Essaouira (Arabic: الصويرة), formerly known as Mogador, is a city in the western Moroccan economic region of Marrakesh-Safi, on the Atlantic coast. The modern name means "the little rampart", a reference to the fortress walls that still enclose part of the city.
The name of the city is usually spelled Essaouira in Latin script, and الصويرة in Arabic script. Both spellings represent its name in Moroccan Arabic, ṣ-Ṣwiṛa. This is the diminutive (with definite article) of the noun ṣuṛ which means "wall (as round a yard, city), rampart". The pronunciation with pharyngealized /ṣ/ and /ṛ/ is a typically Moroccan development. In Classical Arabic, the noun is sūr (with plain /s/ and /r/), diminutive suwayrah. Hence the spelling of the name in Arabic script according to the classical pronunciation is السويرة al-Suwayrah (with sīn not ṣād).
In Shilha, the Berber language spoken by a sizeable proportion of the city's inhabitants, it is called Taṣṣuṛt. This name is formed from the borrowed noun ṣṣuṛ "rampart" by the addition of the feminine gender affixes ta- and -t. In Shilha, the feminine derivation is often used to form diminutives.

I have been living in Essaouira Morocco for the last month. I decided to take a walk around the old town and shoot some little 3 second clips on my Galaxy Note 4 and then just stitched them together so people can get an idea of what Essaouira is like, and so I have something to remember it by! The video is a straight walk from my Airbnb apartment which was 5 minutes from the beach, to the main beach in Essaouira, around to the Port and through the fish market. Then form the main square in the old town through some of the backstreets and markets, back to my Airbnb apartment on the outskirts of town. I hope you enjoy.
DAY 6 In Morocco (Essaouira) I took a trip to Marrakech to Morocco in February 2016 for 7 days. I stayed in Marrakech In Hotel : Zalagh Kasbah Hotel & Spa. 4 STARS. I would definitely recommend this hotel but Breakfast Buffet was very poor quality. Staff was excellent and so was the hotel. My Marrakech Experience was a bit of a bad one but it was still interesting to experience and see this kind of world. Thank you for watching and visiting my channel ! The fishing harbour, suffering from the competition of Agadir and Safi remains rather small, although the catches (sardines, conger eels) are surprisingly abundant due to the coastal upwelling generated by the powerful trade winds and the Canaries Current. Essaouira remains one of the major fishing harbours of Morocco. Music : Smartsound & Freemusic
Visiting Morocco is a once in a lifetime experience! Perched on the edge of Morocco’s Atlantic coast, Essaouira looks like a cross between North Africa and the Mediterranean. Surrounded by golden-stone city walls, it mixes bright blues and dazzling whitewash with flowing djellabas and the smell of spices. And this mixture all makes sense when you look at the town’s history – over the years it’s been inhabited by a whole range of different cultural and ethnic groups, from the Arabs and Africans to the Romans and French. The influences from them all have blended together over the years to create this mellow, relaxed coastal town. Add into that 300 days of sunshine a year and constant warm but not baking temperatures, and you’ve pretty much got the perfect short break destination. Although E...

It's not my destiny
To be the one that you will lay with
So many reasons why
I have to go but want to stay here
Sometimes I want to taste
But then I don't know what I'm sayin'
You are the angel
And I am the one that is prayin'
There is another love
That I would rather be obeyin'
I see the ecstasy
And already I'm anticipating.
I feel a deeper peace
And that deeper peace is penetratin'
I got the magic in me
I am complete is what I'm sayin'
I'm flyin' up so high
My purple majesty displayin'
I've reached a higher place
That no one else can make a claim in
I'll take you there my friend
I'm reachin' out my hand so take it
We are the angels
And we are the one's that are prayin'
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
