Sonora
Sonora (Spanish pronunciation: [soˈnoɾa]), officially Free and Sovereign State of Sonora (Spanish: Estado Libre y Soberano de Sonora), is one of 31 states that, with the Federal District, comprise the 32 federal entities of Mexico. It is divided into 72 municipalities; the capital city is Hermosillo. Sonora is located in Northwest Mexico, bordered by the states of Chihuahua to the east, Baja California to the northwest and Sinaloa to the south. To the north, it shares the U.S.–Mexico border with the states of Arizona and New Mexico, and on the west has a significant share of the coastline of the Gulf of California.
Sonora's natural geography is divided into three parts: the Sierra Madre Occidental in the east of the state; plains and rolling hills in the center; and the coast on the Gulf of California. It is primarily arid or semiarid deserts and grasslands, with only the highest elevations having sufficient rainfall to support other types of vegetation.
Sonora is home to eight indigenous peoples, including the Mayo, the Yaqui, and Seri. It has been economically important for its agriculture, livestock (especially beef), and mining since the colonial period, and for its status as a border state since the Mexican–American War. With the Gadsden Purchase, Sonora lost more than a quarter of its territory. From the 20th century to the present, industry, tourism, and agribusiness have dominated the economy, attracting migration from other parts of Mexico.

La Sonora Dinamita
La Sonora Dinamita is a Colombian musical group that plays cumbia, a South and Latin American music genre popular throughout Latin America. As one of the first cumbia groups to reach international success, it is credited with helping to popularize the genre throughout Latin America, and the world.
The original orchestra was formed in 1960 in Cartagena de Indias under the direction of bandleader Lucho Argaín. It disbanded in 1963, but was re-formed in 1975 under the direction of Julio Ernesto Estrada "Fruko" Rincón, the artistic director of the Discos Fuentes record label. In 1981, . the group released its first successful recordings, such as the classic "Mi Cucu." While the group's lineup has changed, it has always featured a strong female vocalist to accompany its ten-piece brass instrumentation, including Margarita Vargas (la Diosa de La Cumbia), Mélida Yará (La India Meliyará), Vilma Díaz (La Diva de La Cumbia), Susana Velasquez and other female vocalists and also several male vocalists. El Viejo
El Viejo is a municipality in the Chinandega department of Nicaragua.
El Viejo is a small city near the city of Chinandega, noted for its particular gastronomic specialties, which include rosquillas (a type of doughnut), cajetas (a type of dulce de leche), bollitos de leche (a kind of scone), and a fruit particular to the region called the toncua, which is related to the papaya and is eaten with honey.
El Viejo is also the site of a colonial-era church, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception of Mary in El Viejo (Basílica Inmaculada Concepción de María en El Viejo), built in the 17th century. The church was elevated to the status of national religious sanctuary on October 8, 1995, and was declared a minor basilica on February 7, 2006 by Pope John Paul II, during his second visit to Nicaragua.
The basilica possesses a baptismal font dating from 1560, and also possesses a little statue of the Virgin Mary. Tradition states that Fray Pedro de Zepeda y Ahumada, brother of Teresa of Avila, traveling to El Realejo with the image, was forced to go to El Viejo due to a storm. The people of El Viejo were so taken by it that they wished for the image to stay in their town. However, Zepeda y Ahumada set off once more for El Realejo, but a second storm forced him back to El Viejo. Thus, he decided that this was a sign of divine intervention and left the image in El Viejo.

Sonora Santanera
Sonora Santanera is an orchestra playing tropical music from Mexico with over 55 years of history. The band was founded in 1955 by Carlos Colorado in the state of Tabasco, modeled after an earlier Cuban band called Sonora Matancera. However, the band created its own style. In 1960, comic actor Jesús “Palillo” Martínez helped the band play in Mexico City and get a professional record deal under the name of Sonora Santanera. From that time until 1986, the band changed members, but remained focused on Carlos Colorado, the sole musical arranger for the group. Colorado died in a bus accident in 1986, causing some members to split off and form another orchestra called Los Santaneros. The remaining members changed name to Internacional Sonora Santanera. Since the 1980s, little of the band’s sound changed although members continued to do so. In the 2000s, more bands appeared using the name of Sonora Santanera as part of their names, leading the orchestra to pursue legal actions and another name change in 2007 to the current name of "La Única Internacional Sonora Santanera".

Plot: SIREN is a film noir about adultery, betrayal, greed, and murder. NED, a dying man, tells the tale in the past tense through voice-over. The story unfolds as Ned, a bank employee, sees pictures of his woman CHARLIE having sexual relations with his boss. KANESWORTH, the private investigator who took the photos, taunts him. In a fit of rage, Ned bludgeons the private eye dead. Ned quickly confronts Charlie, a manipulative femme fatale who uses sex as a bargaining chip. She convinces Ned to disregard her dalliance and persuades him to rob his bank with her instead. They rob the bank and kill his boss in the process. The couple's next step to paradise is to kill off Ned's homely and unsuspecting wife SONORA. Charlie hatches a plan to poison her at the lounge where she sings. After Ned poisons Sonora, Charlie arrives on the scene with the intention of killing Ned and running off with the loot. Ned has similar designs, which is to kill Charlie. Unbeknownst to Ned, Sonora rises from the floor gun in hand. Charlie and Sonora proceed to shoot Ned. Ned's wife and mistress are lovers who planned this outcome all along using Ned as their unwitting accomplice. As Charlie professes her love for Sonora, Sonora kills her. Ned, bleeding badly from his wounds, accepts his fate and tells Sonora the truth; she drank real poison! Sonora does not believe him and saunters away from the scene, victorious! While Ned lights his final cigarette and closes his narration, Sonora walks confidently into the night. However, after a few steps, she drops the bag of money, gasps for air, and collapses. The moonlight shines on her corpse. The bag of money left in the middle of the dark street.

In the southern part, the Sonora Desert extends to the neighbouring state of Arizona. The northern section of the park forms part of the Mojave Desert and, being in California, is located within a cooler climatic zone a thousand metres above sea level. Even its rock can be divided into two different geological forms. The powerful, dark scree mountains are called Pinto Gneis. The distinctly bright rock of the Monzogranite is the opposite of the Pinto Gneis that can be found in six different mountain ranges within the national park. The bulbous roots of the Joshua Tree were used by the Serrano Indians. Chopped and pounded they were transformed into soap, and string, mats and baskets were made from the plant’s leaves. At the end of the 19th century when the gold mines in the northern part of California had been abandoned, the region’s rocky terrain became a focus of attention. Gold diggers began to travel to the south of the State and in 1865 the precious metal was discovered in this region. The most successful gold digging area was Lost Horse Mine in the foothills of the Little San Bernardino Mountains. Each evening, fantastic sunsets cover this precious, untouched world with a fabulous light while the landscape becomes a captivating, blurred silhouette. When this colourful spectacle of Nature takes place the day draws to an end and the breeze takes a stroll across the vast expanses of the desert.

Located in the South Western region of the United States, Lake Mead is surrounded by the Mojave, Great Basin and Sonora deserts. It contains 35 billion cubic metres of water and was created as a result of a massive construction that was built on the Colorado River: the Hoover Dam.At a length of 177 kilometres, the idyllic Lake Mead is an essential water supply for the hot desert regions of both Nevada and Arizona. The Hoover Dam, which rises majestically above the Black Canyon, extends for more than 380 metres and generates the electricity that supplies the glittering world of Las Vegas’s Casinos in addition to various parts of Southern California. Yosemite Trip Planning: Winter is a magical time to visit Yosemite, with opportunities for hiking, playing in the snow, and quiet solitude. The silence and beauty of Yosemite in winter is an unforgettable experience.
Yosemite National Park covers nearly 1,200 square miles of mountainous terrain in the Sierra Nevada of California. From high peaks and deep canyons to ancient forests and quiet meadows, the diversity of the world is on display here. At Yosemite you can see the tranquillity of the High Sierra, the power of glaciers, giant sequoia groves, thundering waterfalls, clear streams and much more. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, Yosemite is also home to hundreds of wildlife and plant species. Two Wild & Scenic Rivers, the Tuolumne and Merced rivers, begin in the park and flow west to the Central Valley. Visitors experience the park's 800 miles of hiking trails and 282 miles of road.
Visitors fall in love with the park's many waterfalls, specifically 2,425-foot Yosemite Falls that ranks as the tallest in North America, flowing down into the scenic Valley meadows. Hikers take notice of the enormous granite mountains from the 8,842-foot Half Dome to the 13,114-foot Mt. Lyell-Yosemite's tallest peak. Glaciers, which John Muir sought out in California as well as Alaska, add into the mix with the Maclure and Lyell still intact.

Animals: Yosemite supports more than 400 species of vertebrates, including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Wildlife species typically found include mule deer, black bear, bobcat, gray fox, mountain kingsnake, Gilbert's skink, white-headed woodpecker, brown creeper, spotted owl, and a wide variety of bat species. Black bears in Yosemite are active both day and night. Most bears that rely on natural food sources are active during the day. However, those that get food from people are often active at night, when they can quietly sneak around and grab unattended food.
Plants: Move up or down in elevation and feel as though you are in another park. Vegetation changes from oak woodlands to chaparral scrublands to lower montane to upper montane to subalpine to alpine. Those who step into the alpine zone can see krummholz whitebark pines and perhaps a western juniper or mountain hemlock. Scientists study many individual plants, including the black oak, to understand its future challenges.

Yosemite is open all year, though some areas of the park are inaccessible by car from approximately November through May due to snow.

From the West and Most Scenic: CA Hwy 140
This route is by far the most scenic drive into Yosemite National Park and the best way to go if you're visiting for the first time. It's open most of the time and passes through the towns of Mariposa and Fish Camp. It's also a popular route for people driving to Yosemite from the San Jose area.
From the West: CA Hwy 120
Open most any time, this route goes through Oakdale and Groveland and is often used by visitors from the San Francisco Bay area and northern California. It passes through fruit and almond orchards, small agricultural towns, fruit stands and ranches in the rolling foothills before ascending sharply up the Priest Grade to Big Oak Flat and the old gold mining town of Groveland.
From the South: CA Hwy 41
From US Hwy 99 at Fresno, Hwy 41 runs north and west toward Yosemite's South Entrance, which takes you through the towns of Oakhurst and Fish Camp and into the park near the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias and Wawona.
From the East: CA Hwy 120 and Tioga Pass

From the East: Other Mountain Passes

Turkey on Saturday blocked all access inside the country to the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, the communications agency said, in the latest restriction on a popular website to hit Turkish users.
