Gold Coast Titans power home against Parramatta Eels in Alice Springs NRL trial
- Manly Sea Eagles v South Sydney Rabbitohs
- North Queensland Cowboys v Sydney Roosters
- Penrith Panthers v Canterbury Bulldogs
- St George Illawarra Dragons v Wests Tigers
- New Zealand Warriors v Melbourne Storm
Three late tries have sparked Gold Coast to a 24-18 comeback victory over Parramatta in their NRL trial in Alice Springs.
The Titans were down 18-12 with 10 minutes remaining when Anthony Don and Kane Elgey, in his first 80-minute game since undergoing a knee reconstruction, crossed to set up the win.
Phillip Sami completed the comeback with a try on the siren.
Gold Coast took a 6-2 lead into halftime after a tightly contested first half during which only Titans forward Leivaha Pulu scored.
Eels utility Troy Dargan and Titans flyer Tyrone Roberts-David traded four-pointers after the break before the Eels kicked out to the lead with the back-to-back efforts.
But then up stepped Elgey, who pounced on a bomb that was allowed to bounce, and then landing a sideline conversion following Don's try two minutes later.
First-grade regulars Tim Mannah, Isaac De Gois and David Gower all had their first hitouts, as did Titans stars Don, Elgey, Will Zillman and Jarrod Wallace.
