Another whale has been rescued from a a shark net off the Gold Coast, with rescue teams releasing the calf within an hour of it coming into grief.
The whale was trapped on Tuesday afternoon off Surfers Paradise.

Sea World spokesman Mitchell Olivey said they had a crew head out to the whale, but the Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol had freed the whale before the Sea World crew arrived.
Comment has been sought from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

When a whale was rescued from Gold Coast shark nets in July, Sea World's Marnie Horton said such incidents typically occurred between August and early September.
