Henan holds a very important position in the formation and development of Chinese culture. Historical records and years of archaeological study have revealed Henan's ancestors established human civilization more than 8,000 years ago and were the first to create human civilization in China. Henan is located in the Central Plains on the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and has been the political, economic and cultural center of China for some 3,000 years, deemed the "cradle of Chinese civilization."
