I went to the Columbus Zoo on a nice, warmer day in April to see the Polar Bears. I thought they were so neat that I went back in June and July to check out the rest of the zoo. If you haven't been there before, GO! Video recorded April, June, July 2011.
Time flies by with this little gal! Nearly 3 months old, the polar bear cub is learning to walk on all fours, but she still needs a name! Cast your ballot here: columbuszoo.org/namethecub Music: Uke Improv in C by Steve Combs www.freemusicarchive.org CC BY
The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium is one of the crown jewels of central Ohio. I recently made a long overdue visit and was thoroughly impressed by the enormous and diverse collection of animals. Unbeknownst to some, there's also a small collection of rides, including a 60-year-old roller coaster and a pirate-themed boat ride. Rather than make one really long video of my day, I split the footage into 2 parts -- part 1 features the rides, and part 2, the animals. Filmed Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Roller coaster POV filmed with permission.

Happy half birthday to Nora, who now weighs 100 pounds! Nora faced grim statistics when she was born but, thanks to the dedication of her talented care team, she has grown into a happy, healthy polar bear. Watch this heart-warming video about her amazing journey, and be sure to stop by the Zoo at 9:15 a.m. daily to see her in person! She's on view for about one hour. Check ColumbusZoo.org for updates.
