There are weird times, unsettling times, and then times that make you wonder if the entire universe hadn’t slipped into the grasp of some gibbering Chaos god content to cause widespread destruction and upheaval for the simple pleasure of moving things around.


No group is more intimately familiar with necessary pain than recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. Addiction takes us on downward trajectories until a point, unique to each, that is simply unacceptable. Nothing motivates like total desperation.




It’s Monday here in Citizen’s Cab world, my first day back on the job after a crazy weekend that saw the entire world protesting Herr Presidente’s Muslim ban at many of the major airports. Taxi drivers in New York (comprised of many a Muslim) were on strike over at JFK.

By the grace of God, and/or Mother Nature, I’ve been doing quite well working Citizen’s Cab 1015 over the last couple of weeks, what with all of the cold and rain that’s descended over the Bay Area.




The last decade or so in politics has seen the rise of an almost infinite array of groups, associations, organisations and movements, each with a specific modulation of the core principles of the Right or the Left.



I’m traversing the streets, en route to the Citizen’s Cab lot to pick up my taxi, out on the industrial edge of town. And there is torrential rain, downed trees and flooding… BAD!



If we’d like government to catch up sooner rather than later, the solution is not to activate the other side’s lizard brain with fiery arguments and ridicule; the solution is to play to our strengths by moving the ship forward.




It’s noon, and a little cold out. But with clear beautiful skies above San Francisco. We’ve got a respite from the torrential rains, before they’re set to start again early in the week.
