The city of Cambridge is a university city and the county town of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies in East Anglia, on the River Cam, about 50 miles north of London. According to the United Kingdom Census 2011, its population was 123,867 (including 24,488 students). This makes Cambridge the second largest city in Cambridgeshire after Peterborough, and the 54th largest in the United Kingdom.There is archaeological evidence of settlement in the area during the Bronze Age and Roman times; under Viking rule Cambridge became an important trading centre. The first town charters were granted in the 12th century, although city status was not conferred until 1951.

It was a dream job, as I got paid to shoot a high-level conference in the VJ-style I specialize in. I also got to travel around England and shoot some travel videos!
This is the first travel film I have ever shot completely on a Flip Mino HD. I love it because it is very easy to shoot with, and I can carry it anywhere without having to bring a backpack or worry about my big camera. However, the audio sucks and the images leave a little to be desired. But then again, I shot this video in the first hour I was there - I most likely wouldn't have shot anything if I had to bring out the big camera.
So it's a tradeoff. Let me know what you think in the comments: was this film decent? Or did the quality drop because I was using the smaller camera, compared to my other recent stuff?

After a week of running and playing in London, we drove to the village of Sawston, in Cambridgeshire, to visit a friend. We stayed there for four days and took a number of sightseeing trips, the first of which was a visit to Cambridge. As a university professor, I was eager to prowl around the University of Cambridge, one of the oldest universities in the world and home of the world-renowned King's College, Cavendish Laboratory, and the Cambridge University Library. It was founded in 1209 by students who fled from hostile townspeople in Oxford.

Cambridge is at the heart of the high-technology Silicon Fen with industries such as software and bioscience and many start-up companies spun out of the university. Over 40% of the workforce have a higher education qualification, more than twice the national average. Cambridge is also home to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, one of the largest biomedical research clusters in the world, soon to be home to AstraZeneca, a hotel and relocated Papworth Hospital.

After a week of running and playing in London, we drove to the village of Sawston, in Cambridgeshire, to visit a friend. We stayed there for four days and took a number of sightseeing trips, the first of which was a visit to Cambridge. As a university professor, I was eager to prowl around the University of Cambridge, one of the oldest universities in the world and home of the world-renowned King's College, Cavendish Laboratory, and the Cambridge University Library. It was founded in 1209 by students who fled from hostile townspeople in Oxford.

It's not just its tightly packed core of exquisite architecture, or even the mind-boggling mass of brain power that has passed through its world-famous university, but also it's the sensation of drowning in history, tradition and quirky ritual that only seems to deepen the more you discover. But so too there is plentiful opportunity to come up for air, relaxing in the manicured college gardens, punting along the beautiful river 'backs' and roaming the lush water meadows that run out of the city.
And of course Cambridge is no mere repository of history and charm, it is very much a living city; its narrow streets are alive with the click and whirr of cyclists. The river is clogged with red-faced rowers, drifting punts and on occasion floundering freshmen. College porters still potter around in bowler hats, while gowned students wine and dine in cavernous medieval halls. Historic pubs echo with the same equal mix of intellectual banter and rowdy merrymaking that they have for centuries past. And a new generation of designer boutiques, coffee houses and slick nightlife venues is finding its niche in among the intriguing passageways and medieval doorways of the old town.

It has teamed with innovator IBM to help the city prevent fires and protect first responders as well as identify questionable tax refund claims--a move that is expected to save the city about $100 million over a five-year period.
3. Paris - Paris already has a highly successful bike sharing program, Velib, and just last month, its mayor launched a similar model for small EVs called Autolib.
2. Toronto - smartest city in NA, scored well across the board, it is an active member of the Clinton 40 (C40) megacities, which seek to transition to the low-carbon economy. The private sector is getting in on the action too, setting up a Smart Commute Toronto initiative to increase the city's transit efficiency.

A smart city is defined as using information and communication technologies to be more intelligent and efficient in the use of resources, resulting in cost and energy savings, improved service delivery and quality of life, and reduced environmental footprint--all supporting innovation and the low-carbon economy.
The rankings were determined by the cities scores on 4 global categories: Innovation, Green ranking, Quality of life and digital city.

Sporting Clays at Cambridge Gun Club We paid a visit to Cambridge Gun Club for their monthly Thursday 100 english sporting competition. Cambridge GC were voted best shooting ground in the UK in the CPSA Awards 2015. CGC is a CPSA Premier Ground located just outside the village of Cottenham, 20 minutes North of Cambridge in England. The 47 acre site is dedicated to clay target shooting and offers a large variety of targets for both novice and experienced shooters. For beginners they have experienced staff on hand to offer advice and support should you need assistance. The Cambridge Gun Club is currently improving all areas of it’s business and hopes it can offer you one of the best outdoor fixtures in the area. For CPSA members they hold Registered Sporting and DTL competitions monthly...

Cambridge Vlog 73 | There are lots of myths surrounding entry requirements for Cambridge. The admissions process is not as mysterious as you think. It's not so much a set of hurdles for you to overcome but rather a situation in which you present an admissions tutor with a complete picture of yourself. This is everything including your personal statement, your AS results, predicted grades, reference, interviews, entrance exams, etc. They will then assess you based on everything together. If you're an exceptional candidate overall but did badly in one AS subject that won't automatically cost you your place.
