Kathleen York, also known by the nickname of "Bird" York, is an American actress, screenwriter, and singer-songwriter-recording artist. She was nominated for a Academy Award for Best Original Song for "In the Deep" from the 2004 film Crash.
York started her professional acting career during her teenage years. As an actress, she is known for her work recurring as Andrea Wyatt in NBC's The West Wing, the Dominick Dunne miniseries A Season in Purgatory and critically acclaimed performance impersonating young Naomi Judd in the NBC miniseries Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge. Her early work also includes series regular roles in Vengeance Unlimited and Aaron's Way for NBC. Her film credits include Nightcrawler, Cries of Silence, The Big Day, and Crash. She likewise played recurring roles in Murder One, The O.C, and Desperate Housewives. She appeared in eight episodes in season one of The Client List in 2012, and as Madeline Kapnek in the 2014 season of HBO's True Blood.
York (i/ˈjɔːrk/) is a historic walled city at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss in North Yorkshire, England, and is the traditional county town of Yorkshire to which it gives its name. The city has a rich heritage and has provided the backdrop to major political events in England throughout much of its two millennia of existence. The city offers a wealth of historic attractions, of which York Minster is the most prominent, and a variety of cultural and sporting activities making it a popular tourist destination for millions.
The city was founded by the Romans as Eboracum in 71 AD. It became the capital of the Roman province of Britannia Inferior, and later of the kingdoms of Northumbria and Jórvík. In the Middle Ages, York grew as a major wool trading centre and became the capital of the northern ecclesiastical province of the Church of England, a role it has retained.
In the 19th century, York became a hub of the railway network and a confectionery manufacturing centre. In recent decades, the economy of York has moved from being dominated by its confectionery and railway-related industries to one that provides services. The University of York and health services have become major employers, whilst tourism has become an important element of the local economy.
Deep or The Deep may refer to:
"In the Deep" is a 2003 song written by Michael Becker and Kathleen York, performed by York under her stage name Bird York. The song gained fame from its use in the critically acclaimed film Crash; it also appeared on York's album The Velvet Hour. In 2006, the song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. York performed the song at the 78th Academy Awards ceremony on March 5, 2006.
There was some question as to the song's eligibility, as it had appeared in the film The Civilization of Maxwell Bright as well as The Velvet Hour, both of which were released before Crash. However, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences determined that the song had been commissioned in 2001 or 2002 by Crash director Paul Haggis for use in the film, prior to its other uses; thus it was eligible.
In March, Bird York managed to chart on in the US, with "In the Deep" peaking at number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 29 on the digital downloads chart. The song fell from the chart in its second week of resurgence.

Funny how your eyes keep wandering everytime I speak of deeper things my love has no walls, it has no strings so if you want to go, if you want to leave when you're ready, when you're ready, when you're ready come be with me I don't want to be angry anymore so speak your truth now even if it hurts 'cause your silence has been whispering that you're still looking and it's not for me when you're ready, when you're ready, when you're ready come be with me

sorry for the crappy video. I uploaded the song cuz I love it. I don't own anything.
Fresh off the boat from Wales, Catfish and the Bottlemen have made quite a splash in the U.S. indie scene. Led by singer Van McCann the boys have already played big name festivals like T in the Park, Reading & Leeds and the Governor’s Ball in New York. With their punky riffs and McCann’s strong vocals the Bottlemen were destined to be the next big fish in an equally big pond. Their breakout single “Kathleen” centers on a girl who has kicked her drug dealing boyfriend to the curb to be with McCann. But in true young love fashion has become frustrated with their sex life. Check out the catchy lyrics to “Kathleen” below: You’re sympatico And of all the lifts home and all the mixed feelings You’re cuts above And you don’t own worries or a chest full of heartache And Yes, I know, that I’ll nev...
