Motorbike rider critical after crashing at 280kph at race track in western Sydney

A 35-year-old motorbike rider has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after crashing at a race track in western Sydney.

It is understood the rider crashed while travelling at about 280 kilometres per hour.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The man was placed in an induced coma at the scene.

He was airlifted from the Eastern Creek venue to Westmead Hospital shortly after 2.00pm.
