Biography
BAKLA: Short for a much appreciated pastry throughout the Balkan SYL: Short for my first name
Driven by a passion for the Balkans that was aroused by memorable bicycle tours in the area, I set off in search for more. Firstly Christine Niggeler and her choir Acratopège welcomed me for four years. I indulged in the choir’s eastern European repertoire and thanks to her I was able to meet and work with Gjon Guralumi, a «Balkanic Maestro» gifted with magical fingers. Renowned songwriter, composer, performer, writer of several soundtracks, and founder of the Guralumi group are just a sampling of Gjon’s achievments. He has taken part in numerous European festivals. All my musical arrangements and an large part of the compositions have been signed by Gjon.
Melancholic and gay songs Encountering love, luck Perhaps hell, God
But above all music.
It is so évident…
