WA police officers assaulted while breaking up out-of-control Perth party

Two WA police officers were allegedly assaulted by a 17-year-old boy while attempting to break up an out-of-control party in Tapping on Saturday night.

Just after 11pm, Tapping locals reported party-goers were spilling out onto the street, and were attempting to fight one another.

WA Police attended the scene, but were met with aggression from the attendees.

Three males were arrested, and one boy was charged with assaulting two of the police officers.

Further police attended the scene, and three officers suffered minor injuries as a result of the breaking up the party.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of assaulting a public officer, one count of obstructing police and one count of disorderly conduct.

An 18-year-old boy will also be summonsed for disorderly conduct and obstructing police.

A third 17-year-old boy has been issued with a juvenile caution.

WA Police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall said inquiries were ongoing, and further charges may result from the investigation.
