About Us

The National Meteorological Library (NML) holds a specialised collection of books, reports and journals related to meteorological and related sciences, including oceanography and hydrology. While most of the library's collection is 20th and 21st century material, some historical documents, particularly statistical climate data for Australia, date from the 1850's. The Library has been functioning since the creation of the Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology in 1908.

The National Meteorological Library is located in Head Office, 9th Floor West, 700 Collins Street, Docklands, Victoria 3008. The Library is open to the general public by appointment.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
