Actions Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (Chinese: 炬力集成; pinyin: Jùlì Jíchéng) is a Chinese fabless semiconductor company founded in 2000 and headquartered in Zhuhai, Guangdong province. The company has an about 600 employees and designs SoCs for tablets, digital audio players, photo viewers and related products.
The following is a list of system-on-chips developed and marketed by Actions Semiconductor, mainly targeting tablets.
S1 MP3 players use chipsets designed by Actions.
In 2012, Actions Semiconductor produced the ATM7029 which is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A5-based SoC using Vivante Corporations GC1000 GPU. This SoC has been used in the Ainol NOVO10 Hero II tablet and other low end tablets.
For Q2 2014, Actions was reported to be fourth largest supplier of tablet processors to the Chinese market.
At one point, Actions was sued by Sigmatel with Sigmatel prevailing. The findings were that Actions infringed upon Sigmatel by directly copying the ASICs designed by Sigmatel, once a world leader in the MP3 ASIC market. Sigmatel later was sold to Freescale Semiconductor.
The ARM Cortex-A53 is a microarchitecture implementing the ARMv8-A 64-bit instruction set designed by ARM Holdings. The Cortex-A53 is an superscalar processor capable of dual-issuing some instructions. It is available as SIP core to licensees, and is marketed by ARM as either a stand-alone, more energy-efficient alternative to the more powerful Cortex-A57 microarchitecture, or to be used alongside a more powerful microarchitecture in a big.LITTLE configuration.
Android Lollipop is a version of the Android mobile operating system developed by Google, spanning versions between 5.0 and 5.1.1. Unveiled on June 25, 2014, during the Google I/O conference, it became available through official over-the-air (OTA) updates on November 12, 2014, for select devices that run distributions of Android serviced by Google (such as Nexus and Google Play edition devices). Its source code was made available on November 3, 2014.
One of the most prominent changes in the Lollipop release is a redesigned user interface built around a design language known as "Material design". Other changes include improvements to the notifications, which can be accessed from the lockscreen and displayed within applications as top-of-the-screen banners. Google also made internal changes to the platform, with the Android Runtime (ART) officially replacing Dalvik for improved application performance, and with changes intended to improve and optimize battery usage.
As of June 2015, statistics issued by Google indicate that 12.4% of all Android devices accessing Google Play run Lollipop.
The ARM Cortex-A5 is a 32-bit processor core licensed by ARM Holdings implementing the ARMv7-A architecture.
The Cortex-A5 is intended to replace the ARM9 and ARM11 cores for use in low-end devices. The Cortex-A5 offers features of the ARMv7 architecture focusing on internet applications e.g. VFPv4 and NEON advanced SIMD.
Key features of the Cortex-A5 core are:
Several system-on-chips (SoC) have implemented the Cortex-A5 core, including:

Tuesday in Monessen, PA while explaining his trade policies, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said President Ronald Reagan used tariffs to shield America’s semiconductor industry and that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton claims those actions “will start a trade war,” the trade war already started and “we’re losing badly.” Trump said, “I’m going to instruct my treasury secretary to label China a currency manipulator. Which should have been done years ago. Any country that devalues their currency in order to take unfair advantage of the United States — which is many countries — will be met with sharply. And that includes tariffs and taxes. Number six. I’m going to instruct the U.S. trade representative to bring trade cases against China, bo...

A p–n junction is a boundary or interface between two types of semiconductor material, p-type and n-type, inside a single crystal of semiconductor. It is created by doping, for example by ion implantation, diffusion of dopants, or by epitaxy (growing a layer of crystal doped with one type of dopant on top of a layer of crystal doped with another type of dopant). If two separate pieces of material were used, this would introduce a grain boundary between the semiconductors that would severely inhibit its utility by scattering the electrons and holes.[citation needed] p–n junctions are elementary "building blocks" of most semiconductor electronic devices such as diodes, transistors, solar cells, LEDs, and integrated circuits; they are the active sites where the electronic action of the devic...
