April 2016 Video recorded in the end of april. We visited Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, Ebisu, a skybar in Shibuya, and a couple of amazing restaurants. Names and links to the places in the description below ~ —— Asakusa When you wander through the streets of Asakusa you get a scent of old Japan. Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a Buddhist temple built in the 7th century. There are several other temples in Asakusa, as well as shopping streets. It was very busy during the day with the many markets and tourists, but still a nice place to visit in Tokyo. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3004.html Tokyo Imperial Palace (皇居, Kōkyo) Located a short walk from Tokyo Station. It is the residence of Japan's Imperial Family, so the inner grounds of the palace are not open to the public. However, the East Gardens are open to visit throughout the year (except on Mondays and Fridays I think?), and it was really beautiful. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3017.html BLACOWS (ブラッカウズ) - Ebisu My boyfriend was in the mood fore some meat, so we did a quick search of the neighbourhood and found this place - with ’Black Wagyu' burgers. (Since the kana character for “ye” isn’t used anymore, nowadays people usually write Ebisu) Built on the former site of a beer brewery (Yebisu Beer) it has now become a city within the city, consisting of a dozen buildings and skyscrapers, and featuring a large array of restaurants and shops. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3028.html Kaikaya - By the sea (Shibuya) Tucked away within a little backstreet very close to our apartment. We hadn’t booked a table but we arrived quite early, so we were lucky to get a seat. But very quickly the restaurant started to fill up. We ordered lots of different fish dishes that the staff recommended, and everything was delicious. Great english speaking staff, and WONDERFUL food. Last time I was in Tokyo we visited the Park Hyatt bar in Shinjuku, but since we’re staying in Shibuya this time we wanted to try out a skybar in the neighbourhood. And we were not disappointed. Lovely view and drinks! https://www.ceruleantower-hotel.com/en/restaurant/bellovisto/ Ben Fiddich (Shinjuku) We ended up at this cozy little cocktail bar in Shinjuku. Kind of hard to find, but beautifully crafted cocktails and an amazing atmosphere. We hadn’t booked a table, but the owner was very kind to let us in anyway.
