Simone Natale

Simone Natale is Lecturer in Communication and Media Studies at Loughborough University, UK. He is the author of "Supernatural Entertainments: Victorian Spiritualism and the Rise of Modern Media Culture" (Pennsylvania State University Press, 2016), and of articles published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including New Media & Society, Communication Theory, Media, Culture & Society, Media History, and the Journal of Communication. He is also the co-editor (with Nicoletta Leonardi) of "Photography and Other Media in the Nineteenth Century," forthcoming in Spring 2018 with Pennsylvania State University Press. He completed his PhD at the University of Turin, Italy in 2011. Before joining Loughborough University, he taught at Humboldt University Berlin, and he was a Research Fellow of the Italian Academy at Columbia University, New York (2013-14), a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Humboldt Foundation at the University of Cologne (2012-13) and a Research Associate of the Mobile Media Lab, Concordia University, Montreal (2009-11).
