Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine L. Oliver will host the eighth annual "Made in NY" Awards on June 10 at 7:30 PM at Gracie Mansion. The awards are given each year to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to various fields in the City's entertainment and digital media industries. The 2013 "Made in NY" honorees include: Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor Alan Cumming; Project Runway host and executive producer Heidi Klum; two time Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee; five time Tony Award-winning singer and actress Audra McDonald; President of HBO Documentary Films Sheila Nevins; NYC-based blogging platform and social networking website Tumblr; and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, founders of The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films. This year's "Made in NY" Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Emmy Award-winning television host and broadcast journalist Barbara Walters. This year's awards will also feature a special performance by Tony-nominated Kinky Boots with an introduction by Harvey Fierstein.

Designing and decorating your own home is one of the most satisfying experiences. In this video, see how Bob Weinstein and Eric Hensley from Sag Harbor, New York took up an enormous challenge to renovate an old house which they have made their home.
With an aim to preserve the uniqueness of the house, Bob and Eric used pre-existing furniture pieces and fittings from the previous owners. They kept a chest of wooden filing cabinets and framed the old wallpaper which was decades old as memorabilia using Pottery Barn glass frames.
While rebuilding their home, Bob and Eric had fun harvesting and reusing the old building materials. For example, the foundation stones of their home were turned into a sturdy retaining wall in their garden.
A well-known designer himself, Bob likes to incorporate new furniture and design ideas in his home. When Pottery Barn came to redesign their house, they helped create a perfect harmony between different elements of their living space.
According to Bob, the Pottery Barn design team had a great sense of coordination and understanding of aesthetics of their home. The interior design experts at Pottery Barn also provided Bob and Eric with a wide range of options to help personalize and individualize their home.

Bob Weinstein
Bobby Robert "Bob" Weinstein (born October 18, 1954) is an American film producer. He is the founder and head of Dimension Films, former co-chairman of Miramax Films, and current head, with his brother Harvey Weinstein, of The Weinstein Company. Of the two Weinstein brothers, Bob has a reputation as the quieter of the two, and has focused on making commercially successful action and horror films.
Early life
Weinstein was born in Flushing, New York. He was raised in a Jewish family, the son of Max Weinstein, a diamond cutter, and Miriam (Postal). He grew up with his older brother, Harvey Weinstein, in a housing co-op named Electchester in New York City.
Career
After graduating from college, Weinstein, along with his brother Harvey Weinstein, independently produced rock concerts as Harvey & Corky Productions in Buffalo through most of the 1970s. Both Weinstein brothers had grown up with a passion for movies and they nurtured a desire to enter the film industry. In the late 1970s, using profits from their concert promotion business, the brothers created a small independent film distribution company called Miramax, named after their parents – Miriam and Max. The company's first releases were primarily music-oriented concert films such as Paul McCartney's Rockshow. In the early 1980s Miramax acquired the rights to two British films of benefit shows filmed for human rights organization Amnesty International. Working closely with Martin Lewis the producer of the original films, the Weinstein brothers edited the two films into one movie tailored for the American market. The resulting film was released as The Secret Policeman's Other Ball in May 1982 and it became Miramax's first hit. The movie raised considerable sums for Amnesty International and was credited by Amnesty with having helped to raise its profile in the US.

Pottery Barn is a United States-based upscale home furnishing store chain with retail stores in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, Mexico and Australia. Pottery Barn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Williams-Sonoma, Inc., since September 1986, when it was purchased from GAP, Inc.

In popular culture
Pottery Barn is referenced a number of times in the US TV Show Friends, for example when Rachel buys furniture for Phoebe's house (which she is staying in at the time), and claims that it's all authenticly old furniture, it's actually all from Pottery Barn. Another example is in TV show Seinfeld, Kramer talks with Jerry about how he is receiving too many catalogs from Pottery Barn. He saves the collected catalogs, takes them and throws them into the store. Also Sheldon Cooper references it often in the show The Big Bang Theory.

Made in NY
Made in NY is an incentive program and marketing campaign of the City of New York Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting. Under the program, television and film productions which complete at least 75% of their shooting and rehearsal work in New York City are eligible for marketing incentives and tax credits, and can display the Made in NY logo in their closing credits. The logo was created in 2005 by graphic designer Rafael Esquer.
Made In NY also has a training program called the Made in NY Production Assistant Training Program. This trains New York City residents as production assistants and a graduate of the training program is named PA of the Month by the Mayor's Office of Film. The New York Daily News profiled James Adames, the June 2011 PA of the Month. Adames started as a Production assistant and is now working as a TV/Film Producer & Location Manager. He's also writing his own TV show & Feature Film under his production company called Freedomland Production

Country of origin (COO), is the country of manufacture, production, or growth where an article or product comes from. There are differing rules of origin under various national laws and international treaties.
Effects on consumers
The effects of country of origin labeling on consumer purchasing have been extensively studied The country of origin effect is also known as the "made-in image" and the "nationality bias."
Research shows that consumers' broad general perceptions of a country, including of its national characteristics, economic and political background, history, traditions, and representative products, combine to create an overall image or stereotype that is then attached to the products of that country. This image has a significant influence on consumer perceptions and behaviours, and in situations in which additional information is unavailable or difficult to get can be the sole determinant of whether or not someone buys a product. Its effect is strongest on consumers who don't know much about the product or product type, and weakest on consumers who are well-informed. Sensitivity to country of origin varies by product category. It is strongest for durable goods and luxury goods and weakest for "low involvement" product categories such as shampoo and candy. In various studies it has also been proven that the Country-of-Origin Effect also applies to services.

Harvey Weinstein
Harvey Weinstein, CBE (born March 19, 1952) is an American film producer and film studio executive. He is best known as co-founder of Miramax. He and his brother Bob have been co-chairmen of The Weinstein Company, their film production company, since 2005. He won an Academy Award for producing Shakespeare in Love, and garnered seven Tony Awards for producing a variety of winning plays and musicals, including The Producers, Billy Elliot the Musical, and August: Osage County.

The awards are given each year to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to various fields in the City's entertainment and digital media industries. The 2013 "Made in NY" honorees include: Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor Alan Cumming; Project Runway host and executive producer Heidi Klum; two time Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee; five time Tony Award-winning singer and actress Audra McDonald; President of HBO Documentary Films Sheila Nevins; NYC-based blogging platform and social networking website Tumblr; and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, founders of The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films. This year's "Made in NY" Mayor's Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Emmy Award-winning television host and broadcast journalist Barbara Walters. Designing and decorating your own home is one of the most satisfying experiences. In this video, see how Bob Weinstein and Eric Hensley from Sag Harbor, New York took up an enormous challenge to renovate an old house which they have made their home.
With an aim to preserve the uniqueness of the house, Bob and Eric used pre-existing furniture pieces and fittings from the previous owners. They kept a chest of wooden filing cabinets and framed the old wallpaper which was decades old as memorabilia using Pottery Barn glass frames.
While rebuilding their home, Bob and Eric had fun harvesting and reusing the old building materials. For example, the foundation stones of their home were turned into a sturdy retaining wall in their garden.
A well-known designer himself, Bob likes to incorporate new furniture and design ideas in his home. When Pottery Barn came to redesign their house, they helped create a perfect harmony between different elements of their living space.
According to Bob, the Pottery Barn design team had a great sense of coordination and understanding of aesthetics of their home. The interior design experts at Pottery Barn also provided Bob and Eric with a wide range of options to help personalize and individualize their home.

summary:
In Manhattan, cockroaches are spreading the deadly "Strickler's disease" that is claiming hundreds of the city's children. Entomologist Susan Tyler uses genetic engineering to create what her colleague (and husband) Peter Mann and she call the Judas breed, a large insect that releases an enzyme which causes the roaches metabolism to speed up and starve themselves to death. It successfully kills off the disease. The released population was all-female and designed with a lifespan of only a few months, so that it would only last one generation.
Three years later, a reverend is chased and dragged underground by a strange assailant. The only witness is Chuy, the "special" ward of an immigrant subway shoe-shiner named Manny. Two kids later sell a "weird bug" from the subway to Susan, which she performs test on, and realises is part of the Judas breed. Looking for more valuable specimens, the kids go down the tracks where they find a large egg sac and are then killed. Chuy also enters the church to find "Mr. Funny Shoes" and is abducted. Peter, CDC officer Josh and subway cop Leonard enter the maintenance tunnels to investigate but Peter and Leonard get separated from Josh, who is then killed trying to find his way back up. Susan encounters what appears to be a shadowy man in a trench coat on a train platform. As she approaches, it unfolds into an insect the size of a human being which has adapted to appear human. The creature abducts Susan and carries her into the tunnels. Manny also enters the tunnels in search of Chuy and comes across Susan, whom he rescues along with Peter and Leonard, before they barricade themselves in a train car.
Susan surmises that the Judas' accelerated metabolism has allowed it to reproduce and that they have evolved to mimic their human prey. The group formulates a plan to get the car moving: Peter will switch the power on, and Manny will switch the tracks. Susan projects that the Judas will spread throughout the tunnels unless they are able to kill the single fertile male. Manny finds Chuy but is killed by the male Judas, so Susan goes in search of him but finds only Chuy. Leonard's injured leg starts bleeding heavily, so he causes a distraction from the others, and is killed. Peter finds a dumbwaiter and puts Susan and Chuy in it, but stays behind to destroy the breed for good. He gets chased into a room where hundreds are nesting, and blows them all up by setting fire to a loose gas pipe, before diving underwater to safe.
The male Judas escapes the blast and goes after Chuy but is distracted by Susan, who has it chase her into the path of an oncoming train. The two make it to the surface, where they are reunited with Peter, who Susan had assumed died in the blast.

His first film role was a minor part in The First Wives Club but his scene was deleted. In 1995 Stewart signed a three-year deal with Miramax. He played romantic leads in the films Playing by Heart and Wishful Thinking. He had a supporting role in the romantic comedy Since You've Been Gone and in the horror film The Faculty. Other films were planned for Stewart to write and star in, but they were never produced. Stewart has since maintained a relationship with Miramax founders Harvey and Bob Weinstein and continues to appear in films they have produced including Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Doogal and the documentary Wordplay.
He appeared in Half Baked as an "enhancement smoker" and in Big Daddy as Adam Sandler's roommate; he has joked on the Daily Show and in the documentary The Aristocrats that to get the role he slept with Sandler. Stewart often makes fun of his appearances in the high-profile flop Death to Smoochy,[57] in which he played a treacherous television executive, and the animated film Doogal,[58] where he played a blue spring named Zeebad who shot a freeze ray from his mustache. In 2007 Stewart made a cameo appearance as himself in Evan Almighty, which starred former Daily Show correspondent Steve Carell. In the movie Stewart was seen on a television screen in a fictional Daily Show episode poking fun at Carell's character for building an ark.
Stewart had a recurring role in The Larry Sanders Show, playing himself as an occasional substitute and possible successor to late-night talk show host Larry Sanders (played by Garry Shandling). In 1998 Stewart hosted the television special, Elmopalooza, celebrating 30 years of Sesame Street. He has guest-starred on other sitcoms including The Nanny, Dr Katz, Professional Therapist, Spin City, NewsRadio, American Dad, and The Simpsons. He has made guest-appearances on the children's television series Between the Lions, Sesame Street and Jack's Big Music Show.

I have put together some nice scenes of Monica Bellucci (mostly just walking) in Malena, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore in 2000. The film is not a big thing but there are some beautiful shoots of the town, houses, and of course the gorgeous Monica Bellucci.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A young man's infatuation for a beautiful older woman blooms amidst the outbreak of World War II in this bittersweet comedy-drama from Italy.
Renato (Giuseppe Sulfaro) is a 13-year-old boy growing up in a small Sicilian community. Mussolini has risen to power and has declared war upon England and France, but Renato has other things on his mind -- mostly girls. While hanging out with his friends by the seashore, Renato spies Malena (Monica Bellucci), the daughter of one of his schoolteachers, whose husband Nino (Gaetano Aronica) is fighting with Mussolini's army. Renato is immediately obsessed with Malena and follows her like a lost puppy, spying on her whenever circumstances permit and imagining her as his co-star in elaborate erotic fantasies inspired by his favorite movies. Renato, however, is hardly the only man in town to be struck by Malena's charms, and her beauty leads to resentment from the women of the community.
Malena's circumstances take a turn for the worst after her husband is reported to have died in combat, and she is forced to resort to prostitution to survive; she is brutally attacked by a pack of angry matrons and driven from town. Renato tries to keep track of her, and has some less than encouraging news to report when Nino turns out to be alive and finds his spouse is missing.
Malena was written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, best known for the art-house hit Nuovo Cinema Paradiso; Malena was released in Europe at 106 minutes, while the American version was edited by ten minutes to tighten the pace and remove nudity and sexual material considered too strong for the U.S. marketplace.

He has guest-starred on other sitcoms including The Nanny, Dr Katz, Professional Therapist, Spin City, NewsRadio, American Dad, and The Simpsons. He has made guest-appearances on the children's television series Between the Lions, Sesame Street and Jack's Big Music Show.
