Sherlock Holmes (/ˈʃɜːrlɒk ˈhoʊmz/) is a fictional character created by British author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A London-based "consulting detective" whose abilities border on the fantastic, Holmes is known for his astute logical reasoning, his ability to adopt almost any disguise, and his use of forensic science to solve difficult cases. The character first appeared in print in 1887, and was featured in four novels and 56 short stories by Conan Doyle, as well as later works by other authors. The first novel, A Study in Scarlet, appeared in Beeton's Christmas Annual in 1887 and the second, The Sign of the Four, in Lippincott's Monthly Magazine in 1890. The character's popularity grew with the first series of short stories in The Strand Magazine, beginning with "A Scandal in Bohemia" in 1891; additional short-story series and two novels (published in serial form) appeared from then to 1927. The events in the stories take place from about 1880 to 1914.
All but four stories are narrated by Holmes's friend and biographer, Dr. John H. Watson. Two are narrated by Holmes himself ("The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier" and "The Adventure of the Lion's Mane"), and two others are written in the third person ("The Adventure of the Mazarin Stone" and "His Last Bow"). In two stories ("The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual" and "The Adventure of the Gloria Scott"), Holmes tells Watson the story from memory, with Watson narrating the frame story. The first and fourth novels, A Study in Scarlet and The Valley of Fear, include long passages of omniscient narrative of events unknown to either Holmes or Watson.
The Sherlock Holmes Museum is a privately run museum in London, England, dedicated to the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. It opened in 1990 and is situated in Baker Street, bearing the number 221B by permission of the City of Westminster, although it lies between numbers 237 and 241, near the north end of Baker Street in central London close to Regent's Park.
The Georgian town house which the museum occupies as "221B Baker Street" was formerly used as a boarding house from 1860 to 1936, and covers the period of 1881 to 1904 when Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson were reported to have resided there as tenants of Mrs Hudson. The museum is run by the Sherlock Holmes Society of England, a non-profit organisation.
The address 221B was the subject of a protracted dispute between the museum and the nearby Abbey National building. Since the 1930s, the Royal Mail had been delivering mail addressed to Sherlock Holmes to the Abbey National Bank, and they had employed a special secretary to deal with such correspondence. The museum went through several appeals for such mail to be delivered to it, on the grounds that it was the most appropriate organisation to respond to the mail, rather than the bank whose primary business was to lend money out on interest. Although these initiatives were all unsuccessful, the issue was finally resolved in 2002 when the Abbey National vacated its headquarters after seventy years, and the mail is currently delivered to the museum.
Baker Street is a street in the Marylebone district of the City of Westminster in London. It is named after builder William Baker, who laid the street out in the 18th century. The street is most famous for its connection to the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, who lived at a fictional 221B Baker Street address. The area was originally high class residential, but now is mainly occupied by commercial premises.
Baker Street is a busy thoroughfare, lying in postcode areas NW1/W1 and forming part of the A41 there. It runs south from Regent's Park, the junction with Park Road, parallel to Gloucester Place, meeting Marylebone Road, Portman Square and Wigmore Street. At the junction with Wigmore Street, Baker Street turns into Orchard Street, which ends when it meets with Oxford Street. After Portman Square the road continues as Orchard Street.
The street is served by the London Underground by Baker Street tube station, one of the world's oldest surviving underground stations. Next door is Transport for London's lost property office.
The Sherlock Holmes is a Victorian era themed public house in Northumberland Street near Charing Cross railway station and Trafalgar Square which contains a large collection of memorabilia related to the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. The original collection was put together for display in Baker Street in London during the Festival of Britain in 1951.
The Sherlock Holmes was originally a small hotel, known briefly in the 1880s as the Northumberland Hotel, and later as the Northumberland Arms, under the latter name appearing in the 1892 Sherlock Holmes story The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor; the Turkish bath that Holmes and Watson used to frequent in the stories were located right beside the hotel. The entrance to these can still be seen in the wall of the bank in Craven Passage. It has been conjectured by some Holmes enthusiasts and scholars that the present building was the Northumberland Hotel which featured in the 1901 story The Hound of the Baskervilles.

Wholock: The Sherlock Holmes Museum [John and the Doctor]
At the beginning of the year I was for 3 days in London and visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum in Baker Street. For those who could not attend it is the video. It was awesome and it felt like the 19th century! At the moment I save money for a England Holiday for maybe 4 month in the next summer holidays while I live with a host family to learn more about England. Because UK is so awesome and I think about to study there.. (but it's so expensive q.q) So, I look forward to it and maybe my dream comes true to study there and meet Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch! :3

Is it Jeremy Brett, Benedict Cumberbatch or Robert Downey Jnr..or is it the written works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle? Whichever Holmes is your favourite, you will want to visit The Sherlock Holmes Museum in London, the spiritual home of the great detective. Rounding off a terriffic trip to London was a visit to the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221b Baker Street. It was difficult filming as the enviroment was so authentic. Filmed with a little Samsung ST150F at 720p and 30 fps, my Samsung flip struggled too much in the candle light so stayed in my pocket! I do hope the music is allowed as I legitimately bought it!
My friends Ana and Rita were visiting London from Portugual. Camilla and I met up with them and we had a relaxed day taking in a few visitor attractions and general wandering around. I apologise for shaky footage, I need to use a better camera in future. I also didn't realise how close I held the camera to my face...
World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube London Travel Guide http://bit.ly/16S8LQh Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of the Sherlock Holmes Museum at the well-known 221B Baker Street. While the museum recreates the atmosphere of the Victorian era with period articles and wax figures of notable people at the time, the museum gift shop is a prime example of 21st century marketing. The character of Sherlock Holmes, the master detective of all time was created by Arthur Conan Doyle, an English doctor whose failing medical practice left him with a lot of idle time. The detective with ironclad logic was supposedly based on one of his teachers. What Doyle was like as a doctor, we may never find out, but as a writer, he had an exceptional knack for catering to the taste of t...
Soon after his death, the Doctor takes Sherlock to visit John Watson, where he now runs the Sherlock Holmes museum. It is the last time the pair see each other. On seeing how much John was affected by Sherlock's death, Amy and the Doctor travel to the past and take John along with them on his adventures. They reminisce back at the museum and Sherlock speaks a last few words to a much older John as a reminder of their first meeting. It is the last time the pair see each other. The 31-year old St. Thomas, Ontario native practically begged Ritchie to let her be a part of this grand action packed feature. Nicht wenige A...

Secrets of Scotland Yard was the older step sister to The Black Museum. Both series were independent productions created by the Towers Of London syndicate and intended for world-wide distribution. Secrets eventually aired in the USA on the Mutual network in 1957. Both series featured a famous actor as the host. Orson Welles hosted The Black Museum, and Clive Brook, who played Sherlock Holmes in the 1932 movie of the same name, hosted Secrets for the first year or so. Then Brook was replaced with a cheaper actor who played the role of "Superintendent X" . Both series also recreated real life stories from Scotland Yard, including the (often gory) details of the crime and the evidence that led the police to the culprit. Some of the crimes and trials were quite famous, like the theft of the...

Fog matters to you and me
But it can't touch Sherlock Holmes
Dogs bark and he knows their breed
And knows where they went last night
Knows their masters too
Oh baby, hold me tight
Just pretend I'm Sherlock Holmes
Just pretend I'm Sherlock Holmes
Just pretend I'm Sherlock Holmes
Stay, don't give me that same old act
I can call in Sherlock Holmes
He'll want your biography
And pictures of you in lace
And satin looking great
Oh baby, hold me tight
Spend the night with Sherlock Holmes
Hold me tight like Sherlock Holmes
Just pretend I'm Sherlock Holmes
Do you want to have fun?
Do you want a good time?
Do you want me to laugh?
Do you want me to cry
Do you want me to dance?
Do you want me to sing?
Do you want me to joke?
Should I be more like him?
I can dance like Sherlock Holmes
I can sing like Sherlock Holmes
But can't be Sherlock Holmes
I can dance like Sherlock Holmes
I can sing like Sherlock Holmes
