Wayne McGregor's Chroma explores the drama of the human body and its ability to communicate extremes of thought and emotion. The score, drawn from original music by Joby Talbot and his arrangements of music by American rock band The White Stripes, is combined with stark, minimalist designs by architect John Pawson. Against this backdrop is set the inventive and energy-driven choreography of McGregor. Chroma had its premiere in 2006 at the Royal Opera House and in 2007 received an Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production.

Discussions of J.S. Bach's The Art of Fugue often explore the intricacies of its structure, and some even suggest that the work was influenced by the Pythagorean theory of numbers -- in particular the pyramidal shape of the tetractys. These ideas inspired Wayne McGregor and Tauba Auerbach, whose choreography and designs for Tetractys --The Art of Fugue reflect the complex geometry of Bach's music. However, while it is fascinating to explore these links, McGregor is keen that the audience 'see the oneness' of his new ballet. In Tetractys, the combination of music, dance and design transcends the codes that fused them together; creating a new, abstract work of art.

Christopher Wheeldon's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland arrived on the stage in 2011 with a burst of colour, theatrical magic and inventive choreography. It was The Royal Ballet's first full-length work since 1995 and was instantly acclaimed as a classic. Joby Talbot's score combines sweeping melodies, which gesture to ballet scores of the 19th century, with contemporary effects. Bob Crowley's wildly imaginative sets and costumes draw on puppetry, projections and masks to bring Wonderland to life.
Alice encounters a cast of extraordinary characters down the rabbit hole: from the highly-strung Queen of Hearts, who performs a hilarious rendition of the famous Rose Adagio from The Sleeping Beauty; to dancing playing cards; a sinuous caterpillar and a tap-dancing Mad Hatter. There is a love narrative for Alice and the Knave of Hearts, and they dance a tender pas de deux at the close of Act II. But the ballet does not avoid the darker undercurrents of Lewis Carroll's story -- a nightmarish kitchen, an eerily disembodied Cheshire Cat and an unhinged tea party are all created in vivid detail.

Eric Underwood's Bio:
From New England to New York to New Orleans Eric has been writing and performing his original music for over a decade. Born and raised in Western Massachusetts, Eric began playing violin at the age of 10 and was performing with the local college orchestra by the age of 12. Creativity would ultimately lead him to the guitar which would help him hone his craft as a singer/songwriter. Ever changing and never standing still, Eric's original style is like David Bowie meets Coldplay on The Magical Mystery Tour. Currently residing and performing in New York City, Eric has three CD's under his belt and is in the process of recording a brand new CD with his band The All-Stars. They recently released the first single, a duet called "This Is Not a Love Song" featuring Pavlina Horakova available on iTunes now.

Eric Underwood
Eric John Underwood AO, CBE (7 September 1905 – 19 August 1980) was an Australian scientist who pioneered research into sheep nutrition and wool production.
Personal life
Underwood was born in Harlington, Middlesex, England on 7 September 1905, the youngest of three children to James and Elizabeth Underwood. When Elizabeth died in 1907, Underwood and his siblings were placed in the care of family while James migrated to Western Australia and established himself at Mount Barker. After a long period of correspondence James convinced a friend Kate Taysom to accompany the children to Fremantle in 1913. James and Kate were married the day after their arrival.
On 23 June 1934 Eric Underwood married school teacher Erica Chandler at St Andrews Church, Perth, and they had two daughters and two sons. Underwood died in Royal Perth Hospital on 19 August 1980.
Education
The family stayed in Mount Barker until 1920 when James took up a 1,850 acres (7.5 km2) property near Coorow in Western Australia's Mid West region. Underwood boarded in Perth for schooling, going to North Perth State and Perth Modern School, and returning to the Coorow property during school holidays. In 1924 Underwood commenced a cadetship with the Department of Agriculture and studied Agriculture at The University of Western Australia, gaining his bachelor of science in 1928, which he graduated with honours. His thesis, A botanical and chemical study of Western Australian pastures, was published in 1929. Underwood the took up the Hackett research studentship to study at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge obtaining his Doctorate of Science in 1931 and returning to Western Australia.

From New England to New York to New Orleans Eric has been writing and performing his original music for over a decade. Born and raised in Western Massachusetts, Eric began playing violin at the age of 10 and was performing with the local college orchestra by the age of 12. Creativity would ultimately lead him to the guitar which would help him hone his craft as a singer/songwriter. Ever changing and never standing still, Eric's original style is like David Bowie meets Coldplay on The Magical Mystery Tour. Currently residing and performing in New York City, Eric has three CD's under his belt and is in the process of recording a brand new CD with his band The All-Stars. They recently released the first single, a duet called "This Is Not a Love Song" featuring Pavlina Horakova available on iTunes now.

Back in March of 1998 I was invited by a musician I had videoed in some detail Bob n Along to visit and video his appearance at a pub that has since become a long running acoustic music venue in Richmond Southwest London The Waterman Arms. I was amazed to find the venue packed with truly talented musicians along to either play a tune or two or just participate in the very welcoming jam style of this venue playing along to enhance the sound of performers doing their spot. "The magic of a #BolleTour is not only in the programme and dancing, it is in the mutual respect and affection of the dancers and Roberto. Their joy and enthusiasm as the Tour progresses is palpable - its #BolleMagic.
It has become customary for Roberto to 'tour' at the end of July, and this year was no different. This years Tour had the title Viaggio nella Ballezza - (Voyage into Beauty).
For those of us fortunate enough to have been in the audience, I hope this will keep your memories alive, for those who were not, believe in the magic - it happened :)
The programme this year included Pas de deux from the major classical ballets, along with contemporary and modern works.
