Police investigating body found at Aveley park

Police are investigating the discovery of a young man's body at a park in Perth's northern suburbs.

The body was discovered by a member of the public just after 9.30am near Holdsworth Avenue in Aveley.

Police arrived soon after and confirmed the man, believed to be around 20 years old, was deceased.

Seven News Perth reporter Grant Wynne told Radio 6PR the circumstances surrounding the man's death were not yet known.

"A young man found in a very public suburban park, [the major crime squad] are treating it as suspicious until they can rule out if there was any foul play involved," he said. 

"The police have set up a large cordon around this park.

"The cause of death isn't immediately clear."
