Should I buy a decorative doormat?
Doormat styles range from farmhouse worthy to purely decorative. Although doormats aren’t a major monetary investment, they are highly visible in your home as well as protecting the delicate floors within so it’s best to choose one that matches the amount of foot traffic you receive. In terms of materials, the more robust varieties of doormat include coir mats and rubber mats whilst a softer microfibre mat is common indoors.

What kind of door mats work inside or outside?
Door mats made for use for either inside or outside your home are made with different materials as they are designed to handle different levels of debris. Front door mats used inside the entrance are often thinner and more uniform in texture as they are only used for cleaning minor dirt and dust off. Outside door mats serve as scrapers for your shoes, removing outdoor debris to protect your flooring once you step inside your home. Outdoor mats are exposed to a lot of wear and tear, so if you opt for a more decorative doormat for outside your front door, it will need to be replaced more often.
