She may no longer be a Gossip Girl but she sure knows how to rock a designer gown.

There was a time when you could not pick up a magazine without seeing Leighton Meester.

These days the 30-year-old star largely keeps out of the public eye however, she has made a rare editorial appearance in the latest edition of Rogue Magazine.

In Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester was a bit of a fashion darling, but since she's left we haven't see all that much of the star...until now.

Leighton features in an upcoming issue of Rogue magazine where she proved that her alter-ego Blair's style sense has rubbed off on her, with a little help from stylist Rachel Wirkus of course.

Leighton looked fabulous in the shoot wearing an array of pretty pieces and this red fishtail number really highlighted her enviable hourglass physique. The mother of one - Arlo, 17 months - was once a fashion darling helped by her Gossip Girl character Blair Waldorf's passion for style but now largely avoids having her face plastered across magazines.

Clearly how to look great while being photographed in couture is not something one forgets, as Leighton looked stunning as she posed in a myriad of dresses.

The star- who is currently promoting her new Fox show Making History - revealed she is thankful for her start on the cult teen hit Gossip Girl, but says she has grown up from that and thinks her fans have grown with her.

She told Rogue: 'I think I'm different. I started Gossip Girl 10 years ago when I was 20, and I'm 30 now.

'I loved doing it, and now I'm doing something else that I love, and something new that's a little bit more my taste as a 30 year old, something I've grown into.

'I feel so lucky that I can have such amazing fans and they either grew up with [the show] or they're growing up with it now. 

'I've also heard people say, ''Oh we watch that as a throwback.'''

And she's off: As the magazine story was released Leighton was seen flying out of LAX

And Leighton is not bothered by the fact her career defining moment is now a throwback for people.

The actress told the magazine that she loves her new series and it was a case of love at first script read.

She liked the comedy about time travel so much, that it was the first show to tempt her to go back to work since her daughter's birth in 2015.

The couple are very private and stepped out at a public event for the first time in years last month for the Golden Globes.

The couple wed in 2014 but in a secret ceremony. They took a similar approach to the birth of their first child, keeping her arrival under wraps for two months.

Leighton has also been spending her time working on her music - her last album was in 2014 - and says she hopes to release more music one day.

'I really have been missing writing, so I've been doing it on and off [for] the last year or so… I'm hoping to do it again.'
