'Now is the right time': Adele 'is planning for baby number two' with partner Simon Konecki ahead of summer hiatus

She’s in the midst of a well-earned three month break after closing the North American leg of her current world tour by announcing plans for a second baby.

But as Adele prepares to resume her run of live shows across Australia and New Zealand later this month, sources say her flippant comment – made during the closing stages of her final US gig in Phoenix last November – was far from tongue in cheek.

The London born singer, 28, is reportedly keen to extend her family with partner Simon Konecki – with whom she is a parent to four-year old son Angelo.

‘Adele and Simon have spoken about adding to their family and feel now is the right time,’ an insider told The Sun

‘She’s got her Australian tour, then Wembley and then she’s got nothing in the diary so it works brilliantly.’

The source added that Adele hopes to conceive by the time she closes her world tour with four performances at the cavernous London venue in July.

‘She wants to be pregnant by the time of the London gigs – and then she can take another long break.’

MailOnline have contacted Adele’s representatives for further comment.

The singer had surprised fans by revealing plans to expand her family by announcing she was 'off to have a baby' while performing to a sold-our Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix.

'Give it up for me – I did it!' she yelled as ticker tape rained down from the rafters. 'I’ll see you on the other side. I’m going to have another baby!

In September it was reported that she is preparing to take a 10 year hiatus from touring so that she can spend time with her only child.

According to The Sun, the Rolling In The Deep singer had made the decision in light of the fact her son with Konecki will start school next year and will be unable to join her on the road - but she is said to be considering a Las Vegas residency.

A source told the newspaper: 'Angelo is the number one priority for Adele. He is the most important thing in her life.

'Adele doesn’t want to miss a moment of Angelo growing up and it’s an easy decision for her to give up touring for him.'
