A capital city (or simply capital) is the municipality enjoying primary status in a country, state, province, or other region, usually as its seat of government. A capital is typically a city that physically encompasses the offices and meeting places of its respective government; the status as capital is often designated by its law or constitution. In some jurisdictions, including several countries, the different branches of government are located in different settlements. In some cases, a distinction is made between the official (constitutional) capital and the seat of government, which is in another place.
The word capital derives from the Latin caput, meaning "head".
In several English-speaking states, the terms county town, county seat, and borough seat are also used in lower subdivisions. In unitary states, subnational capitals are commonly known as "administrative centres".
An alternative term is headtown. The capital is often, but not necessarily, the largest city of its constituent.
The 1964 Capital City 300 was a NASCAR Grand National Series (now Sprint Cup Series) event that was held on September 14, 1964 at Virginia State Fairgrounds in Richmond, Virginia. Notable drivers who appeared at this race were Elmo Langley, Wendell Scott, Tiny Lund, Roy Tyner and Richard Petty.
There were 33 American-born drivers on the grid; no foreigners attempted to qualify for this racing event. Vehicles registered from this race varied in year models from 1962 to 1964. NASCAR team owners that were fortunate enough to afford the 1964 model of stock car vehicles found that their vehicles could exceed 175 miles per hour or 282 kilometres per hour in the right circumstances; bringing in an era of unlimited horsepower. Having this level of speed within the sanctioned NASCAR events brought forth many events in addition to tragedies throughout the year in addition to the remainder of the 1960s.
During this race, there were lead changes between Billy Wade, Junior Johnson, and Cotton Owens.
The 1967 Capital City 300 was a NASCAR Grand National Series (now Sprint Cup Series) event that was held on September 10, 1967 at Virginia State Fairgrounds in Richmond, Virginia.
The time of the race was two hours, thirty-six minutes, and ten seconds with the average speed being 57.631 miles per hour (92.748 km/h). The pole position spot was chosen by a random drawing; the rain that swept through the area had made the track far too muddy for qualifying sessions. Brooks drew the pole and the race was then started under green-yellow. The cars paced for 24 laps to help pack the clay; Richard Petty took over the lead on lap 25 to help bring about true racing.
Richard Petty would defeat Dick Hutcherson after all the laps in the race were completed; which became the 71st win in his 200-win career as a Cup Series race. The other top ten finishers were: Paul Goldsmith, Sam McQuagg, James Hylton, Wendell Scott, Worth McMillion, E.J. Trivette, Henley Gray, and George Davis. There were twenty-eight American competitors and two Canadian competitors (Frog Fagan and Don Biederman). Econo Wash and Nichels Engineering were the main sponsors for the drivers. Most of the team owners in this race were individuals rather than multi-car teams; as the case usually was with NASCAR races prior to the mid-1970s.
"Setting Sun" is a song by The Chemical Brothers, released as a single in 1996 from their second album Dig Your Own Hole. With vocals by Noel Gallagher, then of Oasis, it reached number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The song has been known to have been played by Gallagher during Oasis's Be Here Now Tour, primarily with just him playing the acoustic guitar and a drone playing in the background. The song was often coupled with the track Fade In-Out from the album. The origins of the song are rooted in Oasis's formative years, whilst playing in the Boardwalk in Manchester, of which a recording of the demo played in 1992 is available online. The original recording of the song was entitled "Comin' On Strong", had Liam Gallagher on vocals, and featured slightly different lyrics to that of the final version, but has commonalities with the version played by Noel during live concerts.
Pitchfork Media ranked it at number 43 in their list of the Top 200 Tracks of the 1990s.
The discography of Howling Bells, a London-based Australian indie rock band, consists of four studio albums, three extended plays, twelve singles, and thirteen music videos. Formed in Sydney in 2004, the group consists of Juanita Stein (vocals, rhythm guitar), Glenn Moule (drums), Juanita's brother Joel Stein (lead guitar), and Gary Daines (bass guitar). Original Howling Bells bass guitarist, Brendan Picchio, left the band in December 2011.
The band moved to London shortly after its formation and recorded its debut album with regular Coldplay producer, Ken Nelson. Following three singles, Howling Bells released their self-titled debut album Howling Bells (2006), to critical acclaim in the United Kingdom. It charted just inside the Top 100 in that country, and just outside the Top 50 in Australia. Four singles that were released from the album charted outside of the Top 100 in the UK. The band's second album Radio Wars (2009), received mixed reviews and failed to produce a charting single in any country, though the album itself charted higher than its more popular predecessor in both the UK and Australia. Howling Bells' third album The Loudest Engine (2011), was released to mostly positive reviews, but did not perform well on the charts. Their fourth album Heartstrings (2014), failed to chart in any nation.
Setting Sun is a band with a rotating lineup led by frontman and producer Gary Levitt. The first release was aptly titled 'holed up' and was written and recorded in San Francisco, California.
Driven by simple acoustic guitar lines, graceful string orchestrations, and Levitt's hushed vocals, Setting Sun's songwriting, arrangements and lyrics were called "dramatic and poignant" by NPR. The sound is centered on the song, with poppy hooks and choruses, while mixing synth experimentalism in with its folky, string-band sound. It is tough to characterize the sound of the band as it is crossover between indie-rock, folk and chamber pop music.
Born in Queens New York, Levitt has been playing music since he picked up a guitar in high school and immediately began writing songs. Studying film and music in college, Levitt’s music has taken him around the world, living in San Francisco, Los Angeles, London and New York where he's worked with a wide array of artists and producers, ranging from the highly lauded to musicians far below the radar. Levitt’s songs have appeared in a number of television shows, commercials and films.

Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece. The city dominates the Attica region and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning around 3,400 years. Classical Athens, as a landlocked location was a powerful city-state that emerged in conjunction with the seagoing development of the port of Piraeus. A centre for the arts, learning and philosophy, home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, it is widely referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy. The first pre-historic settlements was constructed in 3000 BC around the hill of Acropolis. The legend says that the King of Athens, Theseus unified the ten tribes of early Athens into one kingdom. This process created the largest and wealthiest state on the Greek mainland...

(version sung as OFF enters Capital City:)
(lines by members of OFF are spoken, not sung; Tony's line "Hey,
good to see you" is also spoken.)
Homer: Well, kids, there it is! Capital City!
Marge: Look, the Cross-Town Bridge!
(begin vamp)
Bart: Wow!
Homer: Wow.
Tony Bennett: There's a swingin' town I know called... Capital
City.
Lisa: The Penny Loafer!
Tony: People stop and scream hello in... Capital City.
Homer: Kids, look! Street crime!
Tony: It's the kind of place that makes a bum feel like
a king.
Homer: Wow, that's service!
Tony: And it makes a king feel like some nutty, cuckoo,
super-king.
Marge: Look, it's Tony Bennett!
Tony: Hey, good to see you.
It's against the law to frown in... Capital City.
You'll caper like a stupid clown when you chance
to see...
Marge: Fourth Street and 'D'!
Tony: Fourth Street and 'D'! Yeah!
Once you get a whiff of it, you'll never want to roam.
Homer: The Duff brewery!
Tony: Capital City, my home sweet, yeah!
Capital City, that happy-tal city,
It's Capital City,
my home sweet swingin' home!
All: Capital City! Yeah!
Closing credits version:
Tony Bennett: There's a swingin' town I know called... Capital City.
People stop and scream hello in... Capital City.
It's the kind of place that makes a bum feel like a king.
And it makes a king feel like some nutty, cuckoo,
super-king.
It's against the law to frown in... Capital City.
You'll caper like a stupid clown when you chance to see...
Fourth Street and 'D'! Yeah!
Once you get a whiff of it, you'll never want to roam,
From Capital City, my home sweet, swingin' home!
