Houston police narrow their search for Tom Brady's missing $500,000 Super Bowl jersey as city's crime stoppers offer reward in hunt for the thief

  • Police revealed they have established a timeline of when the jersey was stolen
  • Brady put it into his bag when he returned to the locker-room about 10:05pm
  • When he looked for it again about 15 minutes later, the jersey had been taken
  • Only NFL and team staff, as well as players were in the locker-room until 10:17pm
  • Locker-room was then opened to waiting reporters and members of the media
  • Houston Police revealed Tuesday that a reward is being offered for information
  • The cash reward to track down the jersey is being offered by Crime Stoppers

New clues as to the whereabouts of Tom Brady's missing Super Bowl jersey have been uncovered as police continue to narrow down their search for the culprit.

It was revealed Brady lost his jersey in the aftermath of New England's stunning 34-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons, but an investigation into the jersey had failed to turn up any leads.

But that all changed on Wednesday morning, when a timeline of events between 10:05pm and 10:20pm - when police believe the game-worn garment was taken - was released.

Yahoo Sports reports multiple NFL sources put together the sequence of events that started with Brady - who was named the game's MVP - taking off his jersey during on-field celebrations immediately after James White scored the winning touchdown.

As the star quarterback celebrated with his family and teammates on the field, a Patriots employee rushed the jersey - as well as Brady's shoulder pads - to the New England locker-room.

When the 39-year-old finally made it back to his locker about 10:05pm, after completing media requirements following the win, he found the jersey waiting for him on a chair.

At that point, there were about 30 people in the room - made up of 'players, team officials, and NFL employees', according to Yahoo.

Brady grabbed his jersey and packed it into a carry-bag he had next to his locker, before continuing the celebrations with the two dozen or so people inside the still-closed room.

At 10:17pm, media members who had gathered outside the locker-room were allowed in to interview the newly-crowned champions.

Brady headed back to his locker about three minutes later, and at that point he discovered the jersey had been nicked.

'Brady returned to his locker by 10:20pm and looked into the bag in his locker.

'At that time, reporters standing nearby heard him tell an NFL employee that his jersey was missing from his bag,' according to Yahoo's report.

'Within minutes, Brady and equipment managers were searching through lockers and bags and other parts of the room to see if the jersey had been misplaced.'

The champion quarterback is also seen lamenting the loss of his jersey before being interviewed by Yahoo.

'I put it in my bag. I absolutely, 100 per cent put it in my bag,' he said, before being asked if he wanted to continue with the interview.

The timeline was revealed after Houston Police said a reward is being offered to help track down the missing jersey.

'We deem this a pretty important case. We want our top investigators on this case and hopefully we’ll make an arrest, but more importantly recover that jersey for Tom Brady,' Houston Police Chief George Buenik said on Tuesday.

'We’ve heard the media is reporting the jersey could be worth up to $500,000 of value for its significance. We're attempting to gather a list of people who were in that locker room at that point so we can interview them.

'We are asking all the cameramen to check your video to see if they may have captured something. Police investigators maybe contacting you so we can look to see in an attempt to identify everybody in that locker room at the time.'

The reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers in Houston. A spokesman told DailyMail.com offers up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in a felony case, but would not comment specifically on the Brady jersey search.

Brady has previously joked that he expects to see the jersey soon in an online auction.
