A mother-to-be who will broadcast the birth of her daughter live on Facebook has shared her first video post with thousands of strangers.

Ysis, who lives in Wales, will update followers of the Channel Mum Facebook page as she has an induced labour today.

She recorded her first clip as she prepared to leave home for the hospital this morning, offering viewers an honest look at what it's like to be just hours away from labour. She also shared the essential items she will be taking with her to hospital.

The video has already been watched thousands of times and has prompted a flurry of supportive responses from viewers wishing the mother-to-be good luck.

Ysis, who already has a son, said she had been nervous about filming her labour but that the reaction, which she could see in real time, put her mind at ease.

'I was really nervous about doing this Facebook live labour update but it's really, really reassuring actually to see all your comments coming through,' she said.

'I have got just nervous butterflies, not excited ones. Leave a comment below so I can see your stories as well.'

Ysis also revealed how the feed will allow her family in Brazil to be with her every step of the journey.

The mother-to-be shared her story with the viewers, saying how much she wished she had been able to watch a similar video when she was pregnant for the first time.

She said: 'I am having a planned induction. It has been planned for about a week. And this is because my baby was measuring a little bit small on my 36 weeks scan.

'I have been having growth scans in this pregnancy. I developed preeclampsia in my last pregnancy towards the end so I also had to have an induction but that was more an emergency induction.'

Ysis revealed the pregnancy had been normal up until the 36 week scan, which showed that the baby's stomach was slightly smaller.

In another helpful move for other mothers-to-be, Ysis also offered a look inside the bags she was taking to hospital.

Moving across the room, which appeared to be a nursery, she said: 'This is the changing table there ready with all our baby's clothes.

'That's baby's bag. We have got a few cozy blankets on top, and got my wipes ready, and baby's clothes and hat. This is a very special hat, this is the first hat my son had on him when he was born. So we are keen to get baby girl wearing this hat.'

And while she looked glamorous in front of the cameras, Ysis assured viewers 'this will all be coming off' once she was in hospital.

Before signing off to go and make her son some breakfast, she added: 'I will update you again once we are in hospital and booked in and will let you know exactly what is going on throughout the day and I hope you enjoy following my journey.'
