Perth may be enjoying a bright and sunny (if a little windy) Wednesday, but it won't last.
The city is set to cop up to 25 millimeters of rain on Thursday, most likely in the morning, with winds southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h, a low of 13 and a possible thunderstorm with heavy falls exceeding 45 millimeters possible.
That's followed by a wet and windy Friday and Saturday with grey skies and rain forecast until at least Tuesday.
This string of summer downpours comes as a tropical low crosses the Pilbara coast in WA's north, with satellite imagery showing just about the whole state feeling its effects.

A severe weather warning has been issued for the Pilbara and Gascoyne districts, with the tropical low expected to move inland to the southwest overnight and on Thursday before moving back offshore on Friday.
The bureau is warning of damaging wind gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour which could result in property damage, as well as dangerous flash flooding.
Isolated daily rainfall totals in excess of 100 millimeters are possible in coastal parts of the Pilbara.
There's also cold temperatures and rainfall expected in parts of the Wheatbelt and South East Coastal District.
