A $60 handbag on top of wish list of Perth woman who wins $15 million

An unemployed woman from Lathlain who has won $15 million in Tuesday's Oz Lotto still plans to attend a job interview this week.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Pina Compagnone said the woman had chewed through all of her savings and struggled with paying off her credit card bill after losing her job last year.

What happens when you win lotto?

It's a dream for many but only a handful of lucky people will get to experience the process of what happens if you come across those winning numbers.

"It's been a tough 12 months," the woman said.

"Finding work in this economy hasn't been easy but I'll keep looking and even have an interview in a couple of days," she added.

When asked what dreams she could now make a reality the woman admitted she might "splurge" a little.

"I've had my eye on a $60 handbag for quite a while now," she said.

"That'll be a nice treat," she added.

The winning ticket was sold from Archer Street Newsagency in Carlisle.

West Australians have experienced a spate of Lotto luck since the beginning of the year.

On Saturday an ex-serviceman from the Perth Hills has became a Lotto millionaire on the back of a ticket his mother bought him as a gift to start a new career.

"We're just five weeks into the year and already we've seen nine Division 1 Lotto winners share in over $25 million in prizes," Ms Compagnone said.

"We're hoping to keep that momentum going and deliver another winner from the West in tonight's $15 million Powerball."
