'Lost my pops, he's still alive': Marquise Jackson denies new track is a diss at his father 50 Cent... but won't collaborate because 'his music sucks'

That Fiddy family album looks to be a long way off.

Marquise Jackson has denied his new track is a diss aimed at his father 50 Cent.

But in the same breath, he said he would not collaborate because his dad's music isn't good enough.

Despite containing the line 'Lost my pops, he's still alive,' the 19-year-old insisted to TMZ that Different was not a pop at said pops.

'This is not a diss to my father at all,' he said. 'I think they want it to be a diss, people are making it a diss because they want it to be a diss. But it's not, it's what goes on in my life.'

The young rapper said his entire upcoming mix-tape - Escape - is about him escaping from, among other things, dad's shadow.

'Its about me escaping from different relationships in my life, whether its female or family members,' he said.

'I felt like there was no better way for me to introduce myself, let people know this is me, this is what I'm doing; there was nobody else behind this - not my father behind this; this is me.'

But when asked if he would ever work with his father in the studio, he hesitantly replied: 'I don't know'.

'His music hasn't bee too good lately. That's just being honest, that's my opinion!' he said.

'I don't know if people just hold him to a higher standard than usual, but I don't think his music has been too good lately.'

In the song, Marquise hints that while this may not be a diss track aimed at his father, there may be one coming.

'Save it for a different song, a different time,' he raps just after the 'pops' line.

Although he doesn't clarify who he's addressing at the start of the song, he he says they 'Stand for nothing, your knees are weak / We was rose a lot different

'Started to think ni**as is the ones that's out there catching they parent / Claim to be "tough guys", seems to be all in they feelings.'

Other hints at his ad include the line where he says 'man I feel like I'm Game'; which could be a reference to his father's long time rival.

In the hook, he spits: Whats the difference between me and you? / You talk a good one but you don’t do what you supposed to do':

The line taken straight from the song that inspired it by his dad's stablemates Dr Dre, Eminem and Xzibit — but pointedly not featuring Fiddy.

Speaking to Rap-Up this week, Marquise said: 'Growing up, my dad was my superhero. It was like having a father who was Superman, more or less.

'But then, as I got older, you start realizing things or you start seeing certain patterns and it takes an effect on your relationship with people. That’s what happened with me and my father.'

It also recently emerged that 50 had blocked his own son on the social media, after his offspring asked fans to stop advising him to reach out to his father.

'Can you guys please stay out of my DMs and comments asking me to reach out?' he wrote. 'Last time I checked I was blocked, so take that elsewhere. Please and thank you.'
