A woman has died after she fell from a balcony at a Ringwood shopping centre on Thursday morning.
Police were called to Eastland Shopping Centre, on the Maroondah Highway, about 11.45am, a spokeswoman said.
The woman, yet to be identified, died after falling from the third storey of the shopping centre, next to the escalators, into the basement carpark.
The escalators have been closed on all levels.
Emergency services are currently at the scene. A spokeswoman said the death was "not being treated as suspicious at this stage".
"The investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing," she said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
