Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, 45, was found dead at her London flat yesterday. Doctors had recently cleared her of brain cancer, but she was also known to be suffering from a rare and debilitating auto-immune condition, which, left untreated, would eat away at her lungs and kidneys, viciously devouring her body from within. Police, who were called to her home just before 2pm, said her death was not suspicious, but they are treating it as 'unexplained'. (She is pictured left, with a male friend following her birthday in 2011, inset, with former boyfriend Duncan James, in 2012 following a party, top right, her slurred appearance on Frank Skinner's show which led to another stint in rehab, and bottom right with her family, who were close friends with the Royals.)

Gary Lineker saves a fortune by avoiding tax in schemes

From the moral high ground that Gary Lineker so resolutely occupies, he enjoys a crystal clear view of world affairs. Brexit Britain is a 'dystopian land' where the decision by voters to leave the EU makes him 'feel ashamed of my generation'. He has tweeted a number of times and protested against Donald Trump (top inset and right). Public attitudes to refugees can be 'hideously racist and utterly heartless'. Nigel Farage is 'disgusting'. Iain Duncan Smith is an 'irritable dunce'. Then at the weekend, he went into bat against an old foe - popular newspapers (bottom left inset), which had exhibited the temerity to reveal that David Beckham's efforts to manipulate the honours system had been stymied by his equally vigorous attempts to avoid paying tax. Yet one important area of Lineker's life is curiously absent. It also, coincidentally, has almost never been properly addressed in his public statements, or endless commentary on social media. Namely: His colourful tax affairs.

Richard Branson's Necker Island's famous guests

Former US President Barack Obama (top row, right) has become the latest big name to enjoy Sir Richard Branson's hospitality at his personal paradise, Necker Island (inset), in the Caribbean. Necker is a party island, beloved of the celebrity hoi polloi, from Kates Moss and Winslet to ex-Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and the odd royal, global guru or head of state who fancies a freebie. Anyone, in fact, who doesn't mind sharing a hot tub with the host for obligatory selfies (pictured top with Harry Styles, far left, and Sir Richard, second right), or being snapped joshing around with him on the beach or in the water - and then seeing those photographs shared with millions. (Also pictured are: top row from left: Kate Winslet with Sir Richard and his mother Eve and Ronnie Wood and David Hasselhoff; bottom row from left: Princess Diana with Princes Harry and William in 1990, Mariah Carey and Kelly Brook)

The girls are very happy and very excited about what is happening to them.' Madonna had been trying to adopt the girls for two years and made previous visits to the nation to visit them.

TJ Maxx & Marshalls scrap signs for Ivanka Trump's brand

Ivanka Trump's beleaguered fashion brand has taken another kicking after the bosses of TJ Maxx and Marshalls demanded stores throw out her advertisements and take down her special displays. Last week workers at the chains - which are both owned by TJX Companies - were told that her products would no longer hold pride of place in the stores (the picture on the right dates from December, before the memo was sent and was posted by a #GrabYourWallet supporter). 'Effective immediately, please remove all Ivanka Trump merchandise from features and mix into [other products on the racks],' the note, leaked to The New York Times, read. 'All Ivanka Trump signs should be discarded.' It's yet another blow for the socialite's business, which has already been dropped entirely by a string of retailers, including luxury chains Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, as a major anti-Trump boycott continues.

President Trump's choice to serve on the Supreme Court said in a private meeting that he finds Trump's Twitter attacks on a federal judge 'disheartening,' it was revealed.

Schindler's List 'House' where Amon Goth shot Jews

The villa, immortalised by the 1993 film Schindler's List, is where Nazi sadist Amon Göth lived while he was Kraków-Paszów death camp commander, before his execution for genocide in 1946. Twice married Göth kept two Jewish maids prisoner in the basement, whom he tortured and abused. The property, in southern Poland, is at the centre of an extraordinary row involving the new owner Artur Niemyski who is renovating it for his family to move in. Jewish campaigners want it turned into a museum. Göth once killed a Jewish boy because he didn't ask permission to leave the room. Cincinnati Zoo cares for 3 Malayan tiger cubs

Three Malayan tiger cubs (left) were born on Friday at the Cincinnati Zoo. The adorable cubs are currently being cared for by staff in the zoo's nursery after their mother rejected them at birth. First-time mother Cinta's maternal instincts 'didn't kick in', according to the zoo's website. Now, nursery staffers are keeping the cubs warm (bottom right) and feeding them (top right) so the their body temperatures won't get too low without their mother's warmth. Zoo officials said it's not 'uncommon' for first-time tiger moms to reject their young and sometimes the mothers can be aggressive and even harm or kill their young. The cubs will be moved to Cat Canyon when they're weaned and no longer require constant care. Visitors should be able to see them in their outdoor habitat in early spring. There are fewer than 500 Malayan tigers left in the world. Major reasons for population decline include habitat destruction, fragmentation and poaching. Cincinnati Zoo is committed to ensuring the survival of endangered tigers.
