Nat Fyfe has impressed on the track as he looks to make his return to football.

All signs are pointing to a fit and healthy Nat Fyfe on the field in 2017, according to senior development coach Marc Webb.

After breaking his leg in round five against Carlton, Fyfe was ruled out for the remainder of the 2016 season, but Webb says the 2015 Brownlow Medallist has used the time well and is getting back to his imposing best.

“I think in the strengthening side of things, we’ve been really happy with the way he’s gone,” Webb told the SportFM breakfast program on Tuesday morning.

“It’s just the amount of training he’s been able to get in, and we certainly haven’t seen him miss much on the track. He’s only missed one session this pre-season.”

“He’s really committed and a really focused person, and he’s been able to put the extra k’s in, and he’s been ahead of schedule and doing the full football program.”

There’s just three weeks remaining until Fremantle kicks off their preseason campaign in Geraldton against West Coast on 25 February, and Webb says he couldn’t ask for more from the elite midfielder.

“We can only ask for him to do what he’s been doing, and I think he’s really been in full football focus, “ Webb said.

“He’s going at a hundred miles an hour to get ready for round one.”

“We’re really confident in our strength and conditioning, and our physios and doctors, in that they’re going to give him his best chance, and he’s been training well so there’s some really positive signs.”
