They say it is better to be safe than sorry.

And heavily pregnant Amanda Seyfried clearly agrees after she was spotted waddling around in wellington boots after some showers in Hollywood on Monday.

The silver screen beauty took great delight in showing off her burgeoning bump as she padded the ever so slightly damp streets with her lover Thomas Sadowski as they indulged in a dog walking session.

The 31-year-old  Les Miserables favourite looked in fine form indeed in her hooded top, leggings and boots. She rounded off her look with an impressive woolly hat that would not look out of place functioning as a tea cosy.

Indeed it may have even came in handy if she ordered a brew when the couple later headed for lunch at a trendy eatery. 

Amanda's fiance looked trendy in a leather jacket, jeans and brown shoes, while her pooch Finn opted for the classic collar and leash look.

Last week Thomas, 40, talked to Harry Connick Jr about love and family on the star's daytime talk show, which is struggling for ratings.

The Newsroom actor gushed over the mother-to-be, insisting he is 'more excited to be a father with Amanda as my partner than I've ever been about anything in my entire life.

'I spend a lot of my time looking at this bump that’s growing inside of her and just thinking, like, looking and talking to that child and going, "You have no idea how lucky you are to have a mom like this."' 

The 40-year-old and his other half revealed they are expecting their first child last November, and he is clearly still delighted by the news.

He said: 'She’s incredible. I couldn’t be more proud of her for who she is as a mom already.

'I’m more excited to be a father with Amanda as my partner than I’ve ever been about anything in my entire life.'

It seems the dynamic duo are head-over-heels for each other and cannot wait to enter the exciting world of parenting.

The couple first met when they starred in the play The Way We Get By back in 2015 and later reconnected on the set of The Last Word at the beginning of 2016.

The pair announced their engagement last September with baby news emerging shortly after in November.
