CH2M HILL supports a variety of organizations and events that promote partnership, excellence in operations, and environmental education and protection.

Alliance for Innovation
The Alliance for Innovation is an international network of progressive governments and partners committed to transforming local government by accelerating the development and dissemination of innovations. The Alliance seeks out innovative practices, challenges existing business models, exchanges knowledge, and provides products and services that help our members perform at their best. Together with partners International City/County Management Association and Arizona State University, the Alliance promotes excellence in local government and build a community of practice in local government innovation.

American Water Works Association
AWWA is an international nonprofit scientific and educational society dedicated to the improvement of water quality and supply. Founded in 1881, AWWA is the largest organization of water supply professionals in the world. Its more than 60,000 members represent treatment plant operators and managers, scientists, environmentalists, manufacturers, academicians, regulators, and others who hold genuine interest in water supply and public health. Membership includes more than 4,700 utilities that supply water to roughly 180 million people in North America. CH2M HILL is the exclusive sponsor of Top Ops, the “college bowl” of the water industry, held in conjunction with AWWA’s Annual Conference & Exposition.

International City/County Management Association Strategic Partners
Founded in 1914, the International City/County Management Association is the professional and educational organization for managers, administrators and assistants in cities, towns, counties and regional entities throughout the world. Decisions made by ICMA's nearly 8,000 members affect more than 100 million individuals in thousands of communities from small towns to metropolitan areas. Through ICMA’s Strategic Partners program, companies encourage the development and exchange of creative ideas, improved communications, and innovative products and services. The program provides a vehicle for sharing the expertise, resources and experience held by the professionals and organizations in the public and private sectors.

International Private Water Association
IPWA was formed in 1999 to address the changing dynamics that are taking place in individual countries around the world within the context of the evolving water/wastewater infrastructure project and service arena. IPWA serves as a conduit between public and private sector players, facilitating effective, timely dialogues that highlight the critical need for speed, transparency and cost-effectiveness in the development and operations of global water and wastewater projects – and the practical means for achieving those elements. IPWA is recognized as one of the few independent organizations that address, as a central part of its mission, the potential expanding role of the private sector as a viable partner to governments within the global water/wastewater project and service arena.

The National Council for Public-Private Partnerships
NCPPP advocates and facilitates the formation of public-private partnerships at the federal, state and local levels. It also raises the awareness of how public-private cooperation can cost-effectively provide the public with quality goods, services and facilities. NCPPP’s Water Institute provides a forum for members interested in the use of public-private partnerships to design, construct, operate and/or maintain water and wastewater systems. The Institute conducts seminars and workshops for public-sector officials on topics such as full cost accounting, best practices in the development of public-private partnerships, and related subjects. The Water Institute is guided by a steering committee comprised of sustaining members.

National League of Cities Corporate Partners
CH2M HILL is a founding member of the National League of Cities’ Corporate Partners program. NLC is the oldest and largest national organization representing municipal governments throughout the United States. Its mission is to strengthen and promote cities as centers of opportunity, leadership and governance. Working in partnership with the 49 state municipal leagues, the National League of Cities is a resource to and advocate for more than 18,000 cities, villages and towns. More than 1,600 municipalities of all sizes actively participate in the organization. The Corporate Partners program promotes the exchange of ideas between corporate leaders and the leaders of America’s cities to strengthen local government, encourage economic competitiveness and promote civic engagement.

U.S. Conference of Mayors
CH2M HILL is a member of the Mayors Business Council and on the Water Development Advisory Board of the Mayors Water Council. The Mayors Business Council is an exclusive forum for mayors and representatives from the private sector to share research, policy analysis and marketplace trends in an effort to identify innovative approaches to the difficulties and opportunities cities face today. The Business Council aims to improve the business environment in cities, for example, identifying and promoting best practices in the arena of public-private partnerships. The Mayors Water Council provides a forum for local governments to share information on water technology, management methods, operational experience, and financing of infrastructure development. It monitors and responds to federal legislative, regulatory or policy proposals affecting the delivery of municipal water services. It also helps local government explore competition and public-private partnership approaches and alternative methods of financing water infrastructure development.

Water Environment Federation
Formed in 1928, WEF is a not-for-profit technical and educational organization with 32,000 individual members and 80 affiliated member associations representing an additional 50,000 water quality professionals throughout the world. WEF and its member associations work to achieve the organization’s mission of preserving and enhancing the global water environment. CH2M HILL sponsors the WEF’s Operations Challenge – recognized as the “Olympic games” for wastewater operators. Ops Challenge is held each year in conjunction with the organization’s international conference, WEFTEC. In addition, CH2M HILL is a corporate sponsor of WEF’s annual World Water Monitoring Day, an international outreach program that builds public awareness and involvement in protecting global water resources.

Water For People
Water For People is an international nonprofit committed to the long-term impact of increased access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation and health. A handful of North American water professionals from the American Water Works Association established Water For People in 1991 and Water For People-Canada in 1995. The industry recognizes this as a natural extension of what it does on a daily basis – bring safe, sufficient drinking water to their communities. Water For People helps people in developing countries improve their quality of life by helping develop sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and health and hygiene education programs. CH2M HILL has been a corporate partner since 1991 with employees donating more than US$1.5 million through the company’s annual Workplace Giving Campaign as of 2013.
