The New England Patriots overturned a record 25-point deficit against the Atlanta Falcons to win a thrilling Super Bowl LI in the showpiece's first ever overtime as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick won their fifth rings with the franchise.
Atlanta were cruising at various points, having led 21-0 and 28-3, yet an incredible Julian Edelman catch and 19 fourth-quarter points took the contest to overtime where New England won the toss and James White's rushing touchdown completed a quite astonishing comeback in a 34-28 victory.
Here, Sportsmail's Peter Carline provides the lowdown on what else you may have missed from the spectacle in Houston.
Thibaut Courtois, Rio Ferdinand and Kaka were in attendance to watch the New England Patriots stun the Atlanta Falcons to win another Super Bowl.
The giant Chelsea keeper kept fans informed of his movements via social media, while former England and Manchester United defender Ferdinand featured on BBC Radio 5 Live's coverage.
Kaka, who was at his second Super Bowl after seeing the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers last year, is plying his trade at Orlando.

Brazilian World Cup winner Kaka was also among the sporting stars in attendance in Houston
Other sports stars in NRG Stadium included former world No 1 women's tennis player Caroline Wozniacki and NFL players galore, including British-born running back Jay Ajayi of the Miami Dolphins.
Atlanta rappers Ludicris and Usher jubilantly celebrated touchdowns, while Pats nut Mark Wahlberg took his family and nattered with owner Robert Kraft on the field before the game.

Rob Gronkowski shared a video of him dancing while dressed like a caveman to his 1.98million Twitter followers during the second quarter of the Super Bowl.
The madcap, fun-loving Patriots tight end caught a football in the video, saying: 'Check out these moves, @justinbieber #unlimitedMoves.
Gronk, 27, has been out since November after a back injury shortened his season.
But he was fired up by his team-mates' comeback on Sunday night.
Gronkowski, of course, played a key role in the Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seattle Seahawks but missing out this time will up his determination to get back fit again.
The roof of the NRG Stadium was closed. Until Lady Gaga came along.
She delivered on her promise of an energetic performance, leaping from the roof in a death-defying stunt, being lowered onto the stage by hydraulic wires, singing Poker Face.
What happened next was a blur, as the pop nymphette displayed trapeze artistry and elusiveness skipping about the stage, catching footballs and disappearing during her 13-minute half-time show.
Decked out in a glittery silver ensemble, the singer began on the roof singing God Bless America and This Land is Your Land before reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Gaga, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, then leapt from the summit of the giant NRG Stadium.
She performed Born This Way, Telephone, Just Dance, Million Reasons and Bad Romance before skipping into the bowels of the stadium.

Former President George HW Bush and his wife Barbara received a rapturous reception as they performed the coin toss.
The pair, married since 1945, are Houston natives and were making their first appearance in public after being hospitalised within days of each other last week.
The Bushes, both 92, were transported by a golf cart and a wheelchair, and the 41st President of the United States threw tails. Atlanta won the coin toss but despite a good start to the game it was all that Atlanta won on the night.

Atlanta's gleaming new Mercedes-Benz Superdome has many admirable features, but the best one is arguably their concession prices.
When doors of the $1.5 billion building open in July, punters will pay $2 for an unlimited soda, likewise a bottle of water, popcorn and a pretzel.
Meanwhile, a pizza slice and fries are $3 apiece, a cheeseburger $5 and a chicken tenders basket $6.
The same cannot be said at the Super Bowl, where spectators pay sky-high prices for food and drink.
Sodas are $11, bottomless popcorn comes in at $15 and a single-shot cocktail comes in at $15, twice as much for a double.
Supporters at Super Bowl LI can be expected to pay $11 for a soda among the sky-high prices
