Jose Mourinho ends Jaguar deal in huge boost to Manchester United

Jose Mourinho’s partnership with Jaguar is officially over in what is bound to come as a boost to Manchester United's £47million-a-year deal sponsors Chevrolet.

Jaguar unveiled an advert starring the 54-year-old last week as they used their high-profile client one last time before his contract ran out.

There is currently no new agreement for Mourinho to stay as their brand ambassador, though insiders say the door is not shut for the future.

Chevrolet – United's shirt sponsors – will welcome the news that Mourinho is no longer affiliated with another major car manufacturer.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will be asked to do more for Chevrolet. The Portuguese tends to be chauffeur driven as he works on the move.

There is nothing stopping Mourinho from becoming an ambassador again for Jaguar, with plenty of players and managers boasting personal deals despite their club's official sponsors. Those conflicts are common in football.

In his last Jaguar ad, Mourinho, dressed in a slick suit, said: 'My teams have won many titles but I still want more.

'I've worked with the biggest names in the world's most famous cities ‒ but you achieve nothing if you stand still.

'I have got the biggest job in the country, one of the biggest jobs in the world, and a job that I can imagine everyone in the world would like to have, but it's a difficult one.’
