Amy Adams looked mellow as she visited the grocery store in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The talented red-headed actress wore a pair of grey leggings, a grey sweater and some classic black UGG boots.

The beauty tied her long tresses into a messy bun as she accessorized with some sunglasses and a brown purse.

The 42-year-old went for a natural face as she strolled around solo.

Despite being an award-winning actress and being in one of this years most celebrated films, Adams failed to score a nod at this years Oscars. She was recently snubbed by the Academy for her role in the hit sci-fi movie Arrival.

People were very surprised when she missed out on a nomination for best actress, especially since Arrival earned eight nominations in total. It seems the cast in front and behind the scenes of Arrival aren't happy about the snub either.

'It is a little bitter sweet,' wrote best director nominee Denis Villeneuve in a statement after thanking the Academy.

'Amy Adams is the soul of Arrival, so I'm profoundly sad she did not get a nomination this morning.'

Producers Shawn Levy and Dan Levine also said that the film is 'anchored by the magnificent performance of Amy Adams.'

Adams hasn't received an Oscar yet but she has been nominated for five Academy Awards for her roles in American Hustle, Junebug, The Master, The Fighter and Doubt.

However, it isn't all bad news as Adams did receive a nomination for the British Empire Awards.

She was nominated for her acclaimed turn in Arrival and will be up against Natalie Portman, Ruth Negga, Emma Stone and Felicity Jones in the best actress category.
