It also emerged that he already had a fiancee, Marianne Stirling (together right), with whom he had visited London some weeks earlier.

Madonna posted a heartbreaking picture of Malawian twins called Stella and Esther to her Instagram account - six months before her new adoption was finalised. She shared several photos of her trip to the children's home in the Malawian city of Mchinji (top right) with her four children Lourdes, Rocco, David Banda and Mercy James. Yesterday a judge gave her permission to adopt twin girls aged four called Stella and Esther from the Home of Hope orphanage. The girls' biological father Adam Mwale was in the court room when the adoption was approved. Madonna is expected to fly her new daughters back to New York on a private jet today (bottom right, Madonna leaving Lilongwe High Court after a hearing last month).

Built in 1947, the holiday home or 'dacha' as it's known in Russian was home to former Soviet Union leader Joseph Stalin and his family during the warm summer months. Hidden deep in a forest off of Lake Ritsa in Abkhazia an autonomous region of Georgia - the modest property is almost invisible. Photographer Ioanna Sakellaraki, 26, took the images during her travels around the little known region of Abkhazia. A living testament to Stalin and his renowned paranoia the dacha is surrounded by thick trees and is painted green to make it pretty much invisible from the air. Known for his simple taste Stalin's holiday home is designed in a modest fashion despite it boasting a library and games room equipped with a billiards table.

Bare-breasted demonstrators have taken to the streets of Argentina in protest over a recent incident in which police expelled topless women sunbathers from a beach under threat of arrest. Dozens of women and some male supporters protested at Buenos Aires' famous Obelisk monument and in other Argentine cities on Tuesday. The protest was held under the slogan: 'Our breasts should not be censored!' Some of the protesters had their chests painted with slogans such as 'Censor this' and 'We are not going to ask you for permission.'

Incredible footage has emerged showing the moment an overzealous carpet python regurgitates a tennis ball (pictured left). The footage, posted to the Townsville Snakehandler Facebook page, shows the tennis ball being messaged out of the snake's mouth (pictured top right) in the final seconds of what had been a delicate 20 minute operation. An eagle-eyed homeowner in Belgian Gardens had noticed the 1.5 metre carpet python slithering in the backyard with a huge lump (pictured bottom left) on Monday. Townsville Vet Clinic's senior veterinary nurse Trish Prendergast, who massaged the ball out of the snake, said: 'It probably smelt like food, maybe frogs'.

In 1986, astronaut Ellison Onizuka (pictured on right) boarded the ill-fated Challenger carrying a soccer ball from his daughter's high school team with him. The ball, signed by the boys and girls of Clear Lake High School soccer, was eventually recovered from the 250,000 pounds of wreckage found in the Atlantic Ocean after the shuttle exploded just 73 seconds after launch. Now, more than 30 years after the tragedy, an image from the International Space Station shared by astronaut Shane Kimbrough reveals the soccer ball has finally made it to orbit.

Bird-welfare volunteers are trying to locate a bald eagle that was photographed in Bonneauville, Pennsylvania with a leg-hold trap clamped to one of its talons. Wildlife rehabilitator Wendy Ebersole Looker, who is part of the NGO Rehabitat Inc, told The York Dispatch on Tuesday she will care for the injured raptor if it can be caught. 'There's really not much the average person can do,' Looker said. 'Obviously no one should try to handle the bird.' Eagles need their talons to hunt, eat, perch and defend themselves and Looker said that the wounds caused by the trap could become infected. Photographer, Susan Boardman, said she watched the eagle on the ground for about 10 minutes before seeing the leg trap, attached a long chain. She said the eagle appeared to struggle as it started to fly away.

The pictures have emerged just weeks after council workers began to clear a shocking 180 tonnes of rubbish, asbestos and litter left near the site. It was once the largest illegal travellers' site in Europe - at its height more than 1,000 were people living there - and was at the centre of a decade-long planning row.

The bizarre footage shows Russian Rinat Iskakov, 32, filming himself as he smashes the window of the specially adapted 4.4 D model, bought eight months ago, in the snow outside his home. Wearing a red tartan jacket, the man gives a running commentary of his destruction, which he says was due to him locking the keys in the vehicle. A spokesman for Land Rover Russia replied to the video by saying: 'We would recommend that he should have used his second key.'

The Presenchit Mansion in Thailand was bought in 2012 and went through a renovation that saw it disassembled and moved hundreds of miles before being re-built to look like it did in its glory days of the early 20th Century. The new owner, Attada Khoman, compiled historical data on the house, including its archaeological and architectural history and an appraisal of authenticity and integrity, before starting the restoration process. The home, formerly located on Si Praya Road in Bangkok, was built in 1907. It was first used by a noble family and then by the Khoman family. Designer Khoman and architect Chak Kanjanakad teamed up to begin the restoration process on the home in the fall of 2012. Today the home is used as a museum for the Villa Musee in Khao Yai.

A wildlife park has captured the adorable moment one koala has snuggled up to another and used her soft, furry head as a pillow for nap time. Willow was filmed cuddling up to Imogen at Symbio Wildlife Park in Helensburgh, New South Wales. Willow was perched behind Imogen with her arms around Imogen's neck, holding onto the branch of a tree. She was then seen resting her chin on Imogen's head and snuggling in to fall asleep.

An old man was filmed cruising down the street, completely oblivious he had driven off with a gas pump nozzle still attached to his car. A gray-haired man was seemingly enjoying the weather as he rolled down a palm tree-lined street with the top down on his convertible car. He was so distracted by the day that he was oblivious he had driven off with a gas pump nozzle sticking out of his car while driving in traffic.

A problem-solving donkey has been caught on camera opening a wooden gate at a sanctuary in Ronco Scrivia, northern Italy. Sanctuary staff say he's much brighter than the other donkeys there and that his party-trick has become a regular occurrence.
