Homicide Squad detectives are calling for the brother of David Dick, who was viciously assaulted and died as he exited a lift at the Doncaster shopping centre, to hand himself in.

Police said Jonathan Dick, 39, from Seymour, may be able to help them with the investigation into the brutal death of his younger brother, 36-year-old David, last Friday morning.

It is believed he may be headed interstate, possibly NSW or Queensland.

Images of Jonathan and the vehicles have been released in the hope someone may recognise him or have information on his current whereabouts.

David was attacked at the Doncaster Road shopping centre about 6am.

Members of the public found him injured near a lift lobby at the property at about 6.10am and called triple zero.
