Maddie (with her mom Jamie Lynn Spears and stepfather Jamie Watson left and right in the ATV which she had her accident in) is 'doing better and better' after her doctors say she does not seem to have suffered any neurological damage after she spent two minutes submerged underwater when her ATV flipped into the family pond. Her stepfather Jamie Watson gave an update on his stepdaughter's condition and thanked people for their support on Tuesday. Her mom Jamie Lynn Spears and her husband Watson had tried desperately to save their daughter but couldn't free her from her safety belt. She was eventually rescued by paramedics who arrived within just a couple minutes and was airlifted to hospital where she has remained in a critical but stable condition until today. Maddie, whose aunt Britney Spears (inset) appealed for prayers for her niece, finally regained consciousness at around midday on Tuesday, surrounded by family, who have been at her hospital bed since the accident.

James White celebrated the New England Patriots historic Super Bowl win by heading straight from Houston, Texas to the happiest place on Earth - Disney World. The 25-year-old running back and his girlfriend, Diana Civitello, boarded a private plane first thing Monday morning to fly to Orlando where White was celebrated by thousands who lined the streets at Disney for the annual post-Super Bowl parade. It was a fittingly magical trip for White, who scored a record-breaking 20 points on Sunday night in the Patriots defeat of the Atlanta Falcons.

The New England Patriots victory parade kicked off just after 11:30am in Boston on Tuesday. Despite snow, rain and a nearly 40-minute delay, fans in the city were in high spirits. The team is celebrating its fifth Super Bowl win since 2002. Tom Brady (top right) led the Patriots to a 34-28 victory over the Falcons in an amazing overtime comeback, after trailing Atlanta for the entire game. During the celebrations on Tuesday, tight end Rob Gronkowski (left) stripped off despite the freezing weather. And teammate Rob Ninkovich (bottom right) chugged from a bottle of Grey Goose vodka.

Richard Hatch who was best known for playing Captain Apollo on TV series Battlestar Galactica has died. The actor was 71. He passed away in hospice care after battling pancreatic cancer, his family revealed on Tuesday. Hatch started his career in the daytime soap All My Children in 1970 and in 1978 landed the role in the original Battlestar Galactica (left) that ran for one season and earned him a Golden Globe nomination. And 36 years later he joined the cast of new reimagined Battlestar Galactica (right) to play a subversive politician over four seasons in the critically acclaimed SyFy show. 

A man suspected of killing three women and attacking a mother in her own home in a cross-state rampage has shot himself dead during a standoff in a Georgia motel. Police had cornered William 'Billy' Boyette (pictured bottom-left), 44, and Mary Rice (bottom-right), 37, in the West Point motel (top) after a week-long manhunt that began with the death of Boyette's ex-girlfriend, Alicia Greer (bottom-left inset, far right). Rice - whose relationship with Boyette is not yet clear - was taken into custody by police after the siege. Greer's body was found alongside that of friend Jeanette Moore. The couple are also suspected of killing Peggy Broz on Friday and stealing her car, and critically injuring mother Kayla Crocker on Monday morning during a home invasion.

North Carolina mother, Kaycee Oxendine (bottom left), says surveillance video at Carrboro Early School, the daycare where she works, caught another worker (top left) breastfeeding her three-month-old son without permission. On Friday, Oxendine said her son's teacher told her he was constipated. Another woman (right) working in the nursery that day asked Oxendine if she could breastfeed the little boy to see if that would help with the constipation. But Oxendine told her no, twice. Several hours later, Oxendine had to rush her son to the UNC Hospital because she said he became ill and started throwing up. The child was born prematurely, is lactose intolerant and can't have any milk products. The woman has been fired, but Oxendine wants the unidentified woman charged. Carrboro police said they are investigating, but no charges have been filed.

Four more retailers have dumped Ivanka Trump 's fashion brand just days after it was dropped by Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus following an online boycott started in response to her father's election victory. The first daughter was seen taking a phone call on Tuesday at the White House as she held her 10-month-old son Theodore (left), while her husband, Jared Kushner (right), accompanied President Donald Trump to a listening session. Following Nordstrom's lead, Belk, Jet, ShopStyle and Home Shopping Network (inset) have washed their hands of the first daughter's fashion line following the widespread #GrabYourWallet campaign to boycott businesses the Trump family profits from. As of Tuesday evening neither of the companies were selling Ivanka's fashion line, but each company has insisted that the decision to remove the merchandise was not politically driven and instead based on performance.

Vice President Mike Pence made an unprecedented tie-breaking vote in the U.S. Senate to confirm Donald Trump's education secretary nominee Betsy DeVos - then swore her in hours later. Democrats had an all-nighter on Capitol Hill, hoping the efforts would lead to one more Republican coming to their side and voting against the nomination of DeVos.

Omarosa Manigault, 43, was heckled by two women who called her 'Trump's wh***' as she was shopping with her five bridesmaids in Nordstrom in Virginia on Saturday. A witness said the former Apprentice star told security that 'these fat ladies won't stop following me' when she was in the cosmetics section of the store.

Just three weeks shy of their 31st anniversary, Donald and Sandra Lee Cragin (pictured) were found dead by a relative in their Maine home (inset left) after taking their own lives a few minutes minutes apart. Sandra, 55, a mother-of-two and a grandmother, was suffering from Huntington's disease - an incurable hereditary illness in which also killed her father.

Chanel Lewis, 20, allegedly told detectives in videotaped confessions that he 'lost it' and choked Karina Vetrano on August 2 after going to Spring Creek Park angry about issues at home. The pair had never met before. Lewis is facing one count of second degree murder and is likely to have a sexual assault charges brought against him by a grand jury. He was arrested in Brooklyn on Saturday six months after the murder after police matched his DNA to traces found under Karina's fingernails.

The former husband of screen legend Judy Garland claims that the actress was molested by some of the 'munchkins' on the set of her classic film The Wizard of Oz.' Sid Luft, who died in 2005, wrote in a recently uncovered memoir that  Garland was groped by the grown men despite that fact that she was only 16 at the time. 'They thought they could get away with anything because they were so small,' wrote Luft. 'They would make Judy's life miserable on set by putting their hands under her dress. The men were 40 or more years old.'

A massive sinkhole at a Florida fertilizer plant that swallowed more than 200 million gallons of radioactive water is now in the process of being filled. The toxic sinkhole that opened up at the Mosaic's New Wales plant in Mulberry, Florida, is being sealed by a concrete mixture. Video taken from WFTS-TV's helicopter last week showed a built-up ring around the hole as crews have begun pumping the mixture inside. The sinkhole, which measures 45 feet in diameter and is 300 feet deep, opened up beneath a pile of waste material at Mosaic, the world's largest supplier of phosphate. Mosaic said it has continued to monitor the groundwater and has not found evidence that any off-site water has been contaminated. But residents are still living in fear. Joyce Hunter, who lives a couple miles from the plant, said that she doesn't drink the water at all. She and her neighbor, Ron Lynn, say they are just praying the radioactive water that got sucked into the hole doesn't reach their private wells. The state ordered Mosaic to keep testing the wells every quarter this year and twice in 2018 So far, Mosaic says tests show that contaminated water has not left the company's property.

A wildlife park has captured the adorable moment one koala has snuggled up to another and used her soft, furry head as a pillow for nap time. Willow was filmed cuddling up to Imogen at Symbio Wildlife Park in Helensburgh, New South Wales. Willow was perched behind Imogen with her arms around Imogen's neck, holding onto the branch of a tree. She was then seen resting her chin on Imogen's head and snuggling in to fall asleep.

One of the infants sits on a sofa next to her mother while the other is seen on the mobile phone screen wearing a blue bib. The footage is thought to have been filmed in the USA. They blurt sounds and laugh at each other in an exchange that gets increasingly animated as the call goes on.

Photographer Barrett Hedges filmed the cheeky otter sliding around a frozen river in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA. The playful animal was seen belly flopping into the snow and skidding along the surface. Mr Hedges published the video on Facebook, where it has been viewed more than 72,000 times.
