One of the biggest scandals so far on Married At First Sight Australia has involved Lauren Brant, the runaway bride.

The single mum married firefighter Andrew after meeting him at the altar, but then on their wedding night took off suddenly.

Now Lauren has posted on Instagram, revealing she'd 'never do it again' and claiming that Andrew only applied for Married At First Sight to further his 'music career'.

In a post on her account on Wednesday, the mum said that people had the wrong idea about her and her reactions on the show.

'To make all aware I laugh out of nervousness,' Lauren wrote. 'It's not for being ditzy or because I didn't respect Andrew.

'I was in a full blown meltdown fight or flight mode. Andrew had been texting me, we had spoken and we're fine! He also was in it for different reasons (music career).'

She went on to make more claims about the way the show was edited, saying she didn't like how it portrayed her.

'They edit so much of this BS and have made me to be the wicked witch of the west. Try walking into a room with 5 cameras in your face & confronted with the expert. It's such an overwhelming experience & I would never do it again!!'

Andrew has also spoken out about his bride, saying that there's no hard feelings.

'Lauren clearly wasn't the person for me if she didn't even want to get to know me, he told TheFIX

'I was looking forward to what was to come, so I was disappointed that I was going to be missing out on the experiment. But on a personal level, it didn't hit me too hard- I can't be any taller than I am.'

He also hit back, claiming she was the one who wasn't on the show to find a long term partner.

'I don't know that she had thought about the commitment as much as I had,' Andrew said.

'I was really looking for someone emotionally stable and emotionally aware, and I think that's maybe not where she's at at the moment.'

Lauren ended her Instragram post by saying that her and Andrew still 'remain mates' despite everything that went on.

Married At First Sight returns at 7:30pm Wednesday night on Channel Nine.
