Can't rain on her parade! Elle Fanning cuts a casual figure in skintight leggings as she shelters from a heavy downpour

She's been hitting the gym on a regular occurrence. 

And Elle Fanning wasn't going to allow a spot of rain to stop her from her daily workout as she headed to her favourite studio in Los Angeles on Friday.

In a bid to shelter herself from the downpour, the actress, 18, wore a hooded black sweatshirt and matching figure-hugging leggings.

The Maleficent star swapped her usually preened and polished appearance for a decidedly low-key look as she enjoyed her rare time away from A-list movie sets.

Elle bundled up in a loose-fitting black hoodie, which she wore over her long golden locks in an attempt to keep dry despite the heavy rainfall. 

Teamed with skintight leggings, cropped at the calf, the teen teased a slight glimpse of her long and lean pins.

The Super 8 actress ensured she kept hydrated as she swiftly jogged from her car to the gym while carrying a large bottle of water.

In keeping with her exercise theme, the blonde beauty shunned all traces of make-up allowing her flawless complexion to shine in the gloomy weather.

Elle - who is the younger sister of actress Dakota Fanning - rested her feet in comfortable white trainers, while toting her belongings in a chic sling bag.

Despite her A-list status, the teen actress recently revealed she doesn't have many friends and is envious of those who do.

In a candid chat with Elle UK, she explained: 'I’m not someone that has a lot of friends. 

'I see people who have many friends and get really jealous. I have a good core of three or four friends who are really close to me.'

The actress has a relatively low online profile, choosing to use Instagram rather than Facebook and Twitter in a bid to remain 'mysterious' to her fans.

She said: 'I recently turned my Instagram public on my 18th birthday, but I still don’t post everything I do, and I’m not on Twitter or Facebook. You have to leave a little mystery.

'With old movie stars, all you saw were rare interviews where they only shared what they wanted to – that’s what made them so interesting. 

'You could separate the characters from the women, so if you watch them on screen you’re not thinking about what they had for breakfast.' 

Elle has a busy year ahead, starring in How to Talk to Girls at Parties alongside Nicole Kidman and in the Haifaa Al-Mansour directed flick A Storm in the Stars - both set for release later this year.
