'Lesson learned. Never bet against Tom Brady': Tennis star Genie Bouchard agrees to go out on a date with a stranger after losing Super Bowl wager

Forget the Lombardi Trophy. The New England Patriots' shocking comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 earned one fan a date with Canadian tennis star Genie Bouchard.
The Falcons maintained a significant lead over the Patriots for most of the game on Sunday. So as the game was nearing the end of the first half, 22-year-old Bouchard took to twitter and boasted that she 'knew Atlanta would win'.
A fan responded to the comment, asking Bouchard if she would go on a date with him if the Patriots somehow turned things around and won the game.
With the Patriots down 21 to 3 at the end of the first half, Bouchard agreed to the seemingly safe bet, writing back 'sure'.

With the Falcons up 21 -3 at the end of the first half, Bouchard tweeted that she new Atlanta was going to win
A Twitter user reached out to her after the tweet, and asked her if she would go on a date with him if the Patriots turned the game around and won. Bouchard accepted
Things seemed to be going fine once the Pats and the Falcons retook the field after halftime.
Both teams scored another touchdown in the third quarter, but spirits remained low on the Pats sideline thanks to a field goal miss for a much needed extra point.
The score was 28 to 9 when the game entered the fourth quarter, and that's when the Pats really started to turn things around - scoring a field goal, touchdown and then a two-point conversion.

When the Patriots tied the game to put it into overtime, Bouchard asked where the Twitter user lived, admitting defeat was close

After the two-point conversion, which brought the game's score up to 28-20, a fan asked Bouchard if she was getting nervous.
'Umm...Kinda...' the athlete responded.
In the final minutes of the gave, the Pats made history by sending the game into overtime with another successful touchdown and two-point coversion.
Before going to bed, Bouchard tweeted her one takeaway from the game: 'Never bet against Tom Brady'

Bouchard pretty much gave up hope when the Pats won the coin toss giving them the crucial edge to score first and end the game.
'So...where do you live?' she asked the user who asked her out, as Brady and Co. made their way into Atlanta territory. The user wrote that he's from Boston, but is studying in Missouri.
'We can go on a date wherever you want!' he said.
When the Pats scored a touchdown just a few minutes later, and won the game, Bouchard's shock was evident.
'Omfg,' she tweeted.
Before hitting the hay, Bouchard went on Twitter one last time to impart some wise words.
'Lesson learned. Never beg against Tom Brady,' she wrote.
Since the story of Bouchard's wager went viral, she has promised to follow through and go on the date.
'I will do it, I stay true to my word,' she wrote on Twitter on Monday.
The fan who asked for a date hasn't said if Bouchard has gotten in touch to schedule their outing.
Bouchard is currently the 45th ranked women's player. She made it to the third round of the Australian Open last month, before losing out to Johanna Konta. The furthest she has gotten in a Grand Slam tournament is coming in second at Wimbledon in 2014.
