Maturity was celebrated in Hollywood on Monday night.
But it was a young up and comer, Ruth Negga, who stole the spotlight as she accepted the award for best picture for Loving at AARP's 16th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons hotel in Los Angeles on Monday.
This particular awards ceremony was created to honor those in the entertainment industry who are 50 and older, as well as films that speak to that particular audience age range.
Maturity reigns: Ruth Negga looked stunning as she accepted the award for best picture for Loving at AARP's 16th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons hotel in Los Angeles on Monday
Although Negga is only 35, the story she helped tell about an interracial couple fighting anti-miscegenation laws in 1960s Virginia qualified for the awards ceremony on its content, rather than the age of its actors.
The celebrated star glowed as she accepted the honor on behalf of her co-stars and the entire team behind the biographical drama.
She wore a semi-sheer dress shirt dress covered in hearts with a pale pink slip underneath, looking perfectly demure and festively appropriate ahead of the upcoming lovers' holiday, Valentine's Day.
