Truck loses thousands of bottles of milk causing massive delays

There is chaos on Pennant Hills Road after a truck lost its load of milk blocking two lanes at Normanhurst this morning.
The incident has caused massive delays with traffic backed up for five kilometres.
Thousands of litres of milk littered the road after the Connect Logistics semi-trailer suffered a failure.
More than 2000 bottles of milk are believed to have smashed through the back of the truck.
Police and Fire & Rescue NSW crews attended the incident and remain on the scene.
A tongue-in-cheek post on the NSW Police Facebook page warned local residents of reports of ‘a congregation of cats looting the scene’.
Public transport buses on routes past the scene are warning of delays of up to 50 minutes.
The Roads and Maritime Services are also on the scene with heavy vehicle inspectors while a bobcat has been brought in to help clean up the mess.
A Hazmat team is involved in the clean-up effort as milk is slippery on the roads and can be hazardous if it enters waterways.
There is no access to Pennant Hills Road southbound from the M1 with traffic being diverted via the Pacific Highway.
