'Have you seen the size of her tips?' Twitter goes wild after viewers mishear love rat Peter Barlow on Coronation Street

Fans reacted with good humour on Monday evening after an innocently placed comment was misheard on long-running soap Coronation Street.

The misunderstanding stemmed from a phone call taken by notorious love rat Peter Barlow, shortly after the returning character told ailing dad Ken that his secret lover is Toyah Battersby.

With a visibly brooding Ken reflecting on the unhappy news that his son has embarked on a torrid relationship with the former Weatherfield regular, Peter halts their conversation to take a call from taxi firm owner Tim Metcalfe.

'I’ve got a customer here looking for her favourite man on a meter,' says Tim, referencing the glamorous Chloe, a customer with whom Peter recently crossed paths.

The cab-driving lothario had previously enjoyed a drink with the sultry brunette at her hotel following a blazing row with Toyah - an act of charity that was swiftly rewarded with a generous tip.

With that in mind, he quickly responded: 'Yeah of course I can do it have you seen the size of her tips? Tell her I’m on my way.'

Taking to Twitter, one incredulous viewer wrote: 'Did I just hear Peter Barlow say "Have you seen the size of her t*ts?"" Did I or am I hearing things?'
