Helena stayed true to her quirky style as she bundled up in a buttoned-up black coat and added an opulent fur stole.

Rocking a maxi dress adorned with a whimsical ditsy floral print, she added a pair of brown Oxford loafers and chunky woolen socks.

Gathering her hair into a voluminous up-do, the Sweeney Todd actress shielded her distinctive features behind some Perspex round-eye shades.

Meanwhile, Elena looked to be in great spirits as she walked along in a green fur hat, which complemented a red turtleneck sweater and paisley print skirt.

Helena has been busy filming Ocean's Eight in the city, bringing her mother over for company.

In fact, the actress has brought her mother to stay with her for a while in the Big Apple.

Elena - a French-Spanish psychotherapist - has been a regular red carpet fixture over Helena's 30-year career and remains very close to her daughter.

During an acceptance speech for the Best Supporting Actress BAFTA in 2011, Helena dedicated The King’s Speech accolade - for which she played the Queen Mother - to her own mother.

She gushed: ‘This is for all the best supporting wives — the Queen Mother herself, and my mum.'

She added: 'There is no doubt that if my father were alive, he would have given it to her. She was the best supporting wife you could ever have wished for.’

Helena's father, Raymond Bonham Carter, was a merchant banker who represented the Bank of England on the International Monetary Fund but sadly passed away from stroke in 1979.

Helena has two children with former partner director Tim Burton.
