Now that's a Feud! Susan Sarandon kicks Jessica Lange in the head as they play warring Joan Crawford and Bette Davis in first trailer

Today, celebrities like to resolve their disagreements in public, belittling one another on Twitter.

But there was a time when the spats took place behind closed doors - as was the case with Joan Crawford and Bette Davis's epic Hollywood rivalry.

Of course, this didn't mean the disagreements were any less viscious - as we see in the first trailer for Ryan Murphy's new show Feud.

The trailer, which aired during Sunday's Super Bowl, saw Susan Sarandon as Bette delivering a well-aimed kick to the head of Jessica Lange's Joan on the set of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

'Ow,' screams Joan, as she wails: 'She did that on purpose.'

A nonplussed Bette responds with satisfaction: 'I barely touched her.'

A second trailer shows Catherine Zeta Jones as Olivia de Havilland siting on a sofa as she reflects: 'That was a feud of biblical proportions.'
