They were bundled up for their stroll along the beach.

And Katie Holmes, 38, made sure to take lot of pictures of daughter Suri, 10, and her nephews as they all enjoyed a walk along the coast in Santa Monica on Sunday.

The group enjoyed the empty beach as many were presumably busy watching the Super Bowl or decided it was just too cold to spend time by the water.

The star added pictures on Instagram and said she felt 'gratitude' to spend time with her nephews.

Katie was casually dressed in blue jeans and a warm grey sweatshirt for the walk.

She paired her relatively simple ensemble with a pair of heeled black boots from Gucci and a large black bag to ensure she kept everything they needed safe.

Despite the relatively gloomy weather, the actress sported black sunglasses, which she wore over her makeup free face.

The mom of one brought along a camera to take lots of photos of her adorable daughter and nephews.

Little Suri looked cute in a Valentine's Day- themed red dress complete with hearts all over it.

She wore black leggings under it to ensure she stayed nice and toasty as temperatures in Los Angeles barely reached 60 degrees.

The little girl wore a pink jacket over the dress and accessorized with a red bow in her hair short brown hair.

She also donned pink flats to complete the look.

The group also took some time to enjoy the rides on the Santa Monica pier, opting to ride the roller coaster.

They later stopped by Shutters on the Beach to enjoy some lunch at the ocean side restaurant that boasts some of the best views of the water.

Katie has been spending quite a bit of time with her daughter and nephews in Southern California.

On Saturday the group was out shopping in Calabasas and made a few purchases from American Vintage.

The child's father is the actress's ex-husband Tom Cruise.

He mom meanwhile has a number of projects coming out this year, including the ReelzChannel TV mini-series The Kennedys After Camelot where she will play Jackie Kennedy.

The series is expected to begin airing on April 2.
