A shocking video of an attempted home invasion by heavily-armed men (pictured) was released on Monday by New Mexico police. The Alamogordo Police released the surveillance camera video from the incident that took place shortly after 9pm Thursday night. The surveillance footage from a home's front porch in the 200 block of Stanford Avenue shows a woman approaching the door to speak with the person inside. When the resident opened the door, a dog ran out of the home and into the front yard. Moments later a man carrying a handgun walked up to the home and the resident quickly shut and locked the door. The man then pulled the door open as two other men, one brandishing an assault rifle, ran up to the porch. Authorities released the footage hoping to identify the individuals involved.

Customers leave racist message at San Antonio restaurant

Owner Fernando Franco (pictured) said he received a racist note at his restaurant Di Frabo in San Antonio on Friday. The receipt said the customers would not be back to eat, despite the good food and service because Franco was Mexican. Franco is originally from Mexico City, and said it was the first time he felt unwelcome in the United States after the racist remark was signed off with 'America first'. Since the incident Franco has received an outpouring of support online, causing him to thank his community.

San Francisco transit janitor, Liang Zhao Zhang (left), who earned more than $250,000 in one year - $160,000 in overtime - was caught hiding for several hours in a closet (right) not working. Zhang, earned $57,945 in 2015 for cleaning San Francisco's Powell Street station. But public records released by Transparent California, show that Zhang also made an additional $162,050 in overtime, bringing his total salary and benefits that year to $271,243, according to an investigation by KTVU. Zhang's timecard data showed that he worked every day in 2015, and most days he worked overtime. BART paid Zhang for working 17-hour days for 18 days straight in July 2015. BART has never investigated Zhang's time cards, despite him earning more than $705,000 between 2012 and 2015. Over a two-day period, Zhang (inset) was spotted in the janitor's closet for more than three hours. Another 49 BART janitors who earned more than $100,000 in 2015, were not investigated or audited by the company, according to KTVU's investigation. The agency's spokesperson, Alicia Trost, said in an email that there is no future audit being considering after even after the investigation. BART administration says that Zhang's supervisor approved all of his timesheets and overtime, and they insist he is one of their best employees.

A space capsule was found Monday morning along Interstate 10 just outside Casa Grande between Phoenix and Tucson. The capsule was once a cement-mixer drum and created by an artist.

An engineer in Ventura, California has created a machine that holds a hot dog in front of a dog to direct it. The device sits on the dog's back and rotates the hotdog in different directions with the aid of a remote control. The engineer had all the construction and tests filmed, which yielded mixed but funny results.

£360m 'Sailing Yacht A' to be delivered to billionaire

A mammoth $450million (£360 million) sailing yacht was spotted leaving Nobiskrug shipyard in Germany yesterday evening to be delivered to her new owner in Spain after months of rigorous testing. The 468ft-long vessel, owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko, was an impressive sight to behold as it sailed out of the German Naval Yard in Kiel, north of Hamburg on Friday evening.
